Hi Everyone,

Back from a brief hiatus.

(F)

*confetti* ;)

i hear ya sparrow! my car died on me yesterday, the alternator and some other things needs to be replaced. It was quite a scene yesterday, i would have thought someone was robbing a bank, i had police cars and ambulance drivers with their lights on surrounding me  anyway, im not so bummed out cuz my boss said that he would cover the $500 tab! Thank God, I have a wonderful boss!!!!!

I have just decided where I will apply for my next job

We have 2 parties. The bowling alley with a catered dinner AND on Dec 20th, we have our 'in store party'. Everyone brings a dish and a gift to pass. Then we gather around the table with some singles and play Left, Right Center a few times. Not much work gets done on that day. I am hoping with creative sceduling, I can have off the week before Christmas. Go to the party, and come back on the 26th.

J :goofy:

Happy Friday!

My boss asked me for my holiday schedule, and I had to tell him I'm not sure yet  My SO STILL hasn't bought a ticket, although he reserved one.... I'm starting to get very pissed off... He says he could get a better price when he goes into Cairo next week, but I'm just hoping they will still have tickets for the weekend before christmas. So I gave a tentative schedule, and asked him to be flexible since I will need a weekday to get some things done. The boss has also made it very clear that I will have no vacation or personal days btwn Jan 1 and 1st week of April. In Florida both parties have to be present to get marriage licsense and the office is only open 9-4 weekdays, which is pretty much my schedule at work  Not to mention the other gov. offices, ect. we will need to visit for all of his paperwork.

Sorry for the rant  I'm really going to be stressing this until I have a date...

Sounds like you have a sick day coming up!

Not a sick day, a mental health day :)

I love clean carpets. I want to buy a bissel carpet cleaner so I can do it all the time. That thing is awesome.

*puts hand to jules' forehead* Are you feeling quite well? Do you see spots? Yes and yes? Good, come over to my house, the floor is filthy :P

Well I am so glad that it is Friday and look forward to the weekend so that I can move in my new couch and loveseat. Looking forward to the change.

Won't it be a bit cramped to move into ur new couch and loveseat? I would recommend moving the couch and loveseat into ur home instead  Sorry, just had to comment...i read it wrong the first time and thought..WHAT IN THE WORLD IS........ and then realized what it really said...i think amal needs a break...

You're not the only one. I saw it and thought "Well that seems logical, she's moving into the couch crevice to dig for change". Doesnt it always seem like the crack of the couch is an enormously deep place? It has to be to contain the Crack Monster, who devours all that we hold dear, including our precious coins. I for one, am a little afraid to actually put my hand all the way down in there for fear of what might attack me.

Lemon Bars Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

Crust:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting

Pinch salt

2 sticks butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing

Filling:

4 eggs

2 cups granulated sugar

6 tablespoons all-purpose flour

6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 by 13 by 2-inch pan.

Make the crust by combining the flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the butter to make a crumbly mixture. Press the mixture into the prepared pan. You may need to dip your fingers into a little flour or confectioners' sugar to keep the dough from sticking to your fingers. Bake for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, to make the filling, mix the eggs, granulated sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Pour this over the baked crust and bake for 25 minutes longer. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired, when the bars are done.

you're welcome. ;)

Yes, but is a hide-a-bed (sleeper sofa)? You know the Crack Monsters that live in those are quite dangerous. The Jaws of Death envelop your hand and you're trapped for all eternity. (Or until someone comes in with a video camera to capture this less-than-dignfied moment for the whole country to see on AFV.) There you are, on your knees, bum in the air, one arm completely lost in the depths of The Crack Monster's grisly maw disguised as a a harmless plaid seat covering. You scream for help, your life is on the line. Your entire limb could be severed! You may never play the violin again! The fire department is called to the rescue. Captain Handsome Fireman, who moonlights as an calendar underwear model, leaps to your side and frees you from certain death with the aid of a handy tub of Parkay and an expertly manuevered broom handle. Your prize? The goal of your search into the depths of the Crack Monster's digestive system resulting in this nasty brush with mortality? Two sticky nickels covered in cracker crumbs and a headless Polly Pocket doll. Now those were really worth risking your life over.

Thank you. I gained ten pounds just reading that. All in my gluteus very maximus

Yessss it's finally Friday.

So Bridget I see you are back- was it the AP that drove you away? Did the AP make you send messages to members questioning how much Amerylu supported her husband while he was in Egypt? Did the AP make you slip and send it to her cousin? Oopsies! Better be more careful next time.

Sarah please lets keep the thread on topic and not take away from the good nature of the posts by inviting an argument. Thanks.

Cable guy is coming this morning. For some reason, the HDTV/On Demand stopped working. Regular cable and internet still works so I'm not too concerned.

Jackie :goofy:

HI

do you have Comcast? If you do I bet you he wont be able to fix that problem. I think it is a issue more upstream. and it is not you.

So good luck

Yogi

Sure! Get me a ticket and I'll go :) It's actually the easiest thing I ever tried to use to clean carpets and it's like $60. I'm thinking about trying to convince Dh we need one :)

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
