if she has to ask if it's ok is because she's starting to have feelings (or lust) and it's just better to cut down the time they're spending together.

Me and my SO both have friends of the opposite sex... but we made the decision when we got together not to spend time alone with them. It isn't because we're incapable of controlling ourselves, or because we don't trust each other... it's out of respect for one another, and also removes any kind of suspicion or difficult/awkward circumstance. We still enjoy those friendships, but we keep them to public places or with other people around. It's actually very freeing.

I'd like to think that it's poss, but as I said before, in my experience, it's been disheartening.

I couldn't be friends with a SAHD cos I'd be all 'take your b@lls out of the wife's purse and get back to work and be the flipping breadwinner for cryin out loud!'

The real answer is that it's ok if one (or both) is ugly.

If they're both ugly, it cancels out.

Unless they both find each other ugly. But really it would be best if one were disfigured in some way.

Before I got married, I found that if I spend enough time with a woman who I initially thought was ugly, she begins to grow on me. So time is a factor too.

I don't have like any gay friends anymore. All my male friends are straight. #######? I'm in media. I live in NY. C'mon.

I don't see what the issue is.

Come on, their spouses are working and probably spending time with people of the other sex there. They might not hate all of them either.

I dont' understand how it shows respect to the spouse? I really don't...and I don't mean this sarcastically. I don't understand why there should be suspicion if nothing is going on.
