I am not the USC- but I would be fine if Mel went on a vacation without me.

I'm going to Vegas tomorrow with my girlfriend. It is a great opportunity- my girlfriend is a high roller and the whole trip is comped. It's going to be VIP treatment all the way and we will have an amazing time. Mel has no problem with me going- he handed me a wad of cash and told me to have a great time.

If it was the other way around, I'd do the same for him. Except the wad of cash bit- all my money has been invested in handbags. :P

You and I have talked about this before. You aren't the kind of person that should ever pass up a travel opportunity like that. Especially because travel is so important to you, if you don't go, you might end up resenting him. He knew going in that you might travel without him sometimes. Go for it and don't feel the least bit guilty. :)

so true! he does realize now how important travel is to me. i'm sure he'd be pretty lonely without me but i MAY have a chance to go somewhere really cool but we'll see if it actually follows through. btw, when are we planning our trip somewhere? :D

Hehe, what did you think of me before? ;)

If I say they will ban me for good..... naaaa, nothing sister. I'm too self-centered to think of other people ;)

If you (the USC) had the chance to go on an all expenses paid trip of a lifetime and could only go now, and your SO either:

1. couldn't go because they don't have their greencard/AP yet.

or

2. couldn't leave because of work or other obligations.

would you go anyway? even if that meant they were alone for a few weeks.

hmmmmmmm...

With all the sacrifices and hard work that hubby does to me and my family I would say you go Gary you deserve it!!!:luv::luv:

And besides its only for few weeks , I would not left alone because I know he enjoy and he is having fun with the vacation.

Hmm...I may be going to Thailand without him next summer, and he's gone to Italy with friends before and I didn't go with him.

So ya, it's not like we're chained together, if he couldn't go, he couldn't go. As long as there's no hard feelings, I am fine with it.

If I can't share it with her, no way. That in itself made it not a trip of as lifetime.

If it were just something like going to Florida for a week I wouldn't mind going alone, if it were really the trip of a lifetime(like the trek to Manang and Mustang that we are planning for next June) then no way would I want to go without him - those are the kind of memories you share for the rest of your life. I so much wish I had known G when I visited Tibet and China 2 years ago - it would have made the trip even more spectacular. Since he and I both pretty much dream of seeing the same places I think he would feel the same way.

If it is a trip of a lifetime and you didn't go because of your husband then I think you might end up resenting him and always wondering "what if?". Personally? If it was either myself or my husband in that situation I think both of us would say "go and enjoy yourself!"

Opportunities like this don't happen very often for the average person, so you should make the most of them when they do. Just bring back hubby a really nice pressie...or two.
