Yes, Susie, information is priceless.

gogo, I wondered how long it would be before you returned. It is actually good to see you back. If you need VJ as part of your support system, I would hate to see you not utilize it. You also have friends here who care about you (obviously). I myself am interested in seeing how your case turns out.

Susie speaks about information and that is what I would like to address. Your posts are confusing to me, and I apologize if that seems like an attack to you. I understand little of what you post about your 'security check' and the 'interview' you are fearing. I can tell you that occasionally, we do see on VJ cases that take longer at the petition state because of security clearance checks. We've seen some that have taken much longer than yours. Some are cases pulled at random - some are cases from certain nations pulled because the beneficiary is in a certain line of work, etc.

I see you read and research about delays in the system, and I see you referring to a different type of petition. I'm going to be very honest with you and say that is not helpful nor is it healthy for you. You can't compare a different sort of case to yours - the processing path is different. I'm suggesting that you stick with research for your type of petition and limit it to that or you're just going to upset yourself worse.

I would also like to say that I shouldn't have been so abrupt with you the other day. I've been here a while and I feel I know the dynamic of this place. As you can see we have a great potential to impact each others moods around here. My frustration the other day came from my belief (perhaps incorrect, perhaps not) that your state of mind was impacting others in a negative way. We do need to pass along correct information around here - incorrect information breeds hysteria.

I hope this next point won't offend you, but here goes - I'm not sure you actually know enough about what is going on with your case to be making some of the claims you have made about it. Some of the things you write are quite strange. I'm sorry to say that but it's true. I am wondering if you have perhaps made SO many inquiries about your case that you have muddled your information - or been given incorrect information and don't realize it? Is that possible?

At any rate, I am sorry for being nasty to you the other day. I felt you were going a little over the top and I handled it poorly.

As far as my own situation goes, it does get tiresome to be told that I don't understand a person's situation because I was blessed to NOT have to wait. That is pretty hurtful to someone like me who has remained in this community to help others. I could have buggered out after we were approved - I didn't for two reasons. I'm fascinated by this process and like to help others if I can - to pay back the help we were given. And secondly, because I believe a visajourney doesn't end when the couple is reunited. And that's just a belief I hold because I'm on this side of the fence and something most people don't quite 'get' until they are reunited.

I hope we can all have a truce about this stuff.

Cheers Rebecca as my hubbie would say - and yes we all have our emotions in this together - and I for one thank the day that I stumbled across this forum and for all the great advice given and more importantly this forum is like a Mastercard commerical....

Bumbling acorss this site............$85.00 USD for highspeed

Taking the time to register and scope out post.................$250.00 (sorry normal charge for two hours work in our field lol)

Printing out forms to file for later use..................$2.00 USD

FINDING A PLACE THAT GIVES ME VALUABLE INFORMATION AND PEOPLE THAT ARE OR WERE IN MY HUSBAND and MY SHOES..........................absolutely drop dead spot on PRICELESS.

Cheers all and lets get back to the matter of the whole situation........having our loved one heres with us and understanding what it takes to do that.

Welcome back Gogo. I was busy at work and missed that other thread that apparently turned into a slingfest. nBut, it apparently went too far for me to have cared to post there anyway. There are 2 things that I did want to comment on.

1)Gogo, your case is certainly not the usual sit and wait scenario. I have followed your posts across the many threads, and know that you have experienced some unusual twists and turns and are in for a further wait. I came to your defense in your We are the longest at Guangzhou thread where some people just said you have to wait like we did. They did not follow your situation, which like I said is unusual. You have every right to all of your emotions (anger, depressiom, despair, etc.) and you have every right to post them here on VJ just like everyone else. And your friends here, we will support you in any way we can. That is part of the purpose of VJ.

2)My second comment is about your posts in response to other peoples' expression of their frustration at their waits. This is what initially concerned rebeccajo and others (myself included). I know you were just trying to be helpful. But, pechez is a perfect case in point. She was depressed about being without approvals and her SO. She expressed that depression, and needed/wanted to hear that it would be ok if she held on a little longer. She was only at about 130 days for the I129F. Yes, that is too long in my book (we need immigration reform), but as the current procedures and wait times go, 130 days is not too long. Her case was the usual. She just needed to wait to get the approvals, which she did about 3 or 4 days after the thread that sparked the slingfest. Like I said, I know you were trying to help. But, encouraging her or her SO to start calling and emailing people like crazy would not really help her, honestly. Former NSC adjudicator HuskerKiev said that congressional inquiries could result in a file being pulled from an adjudicator so that they can respond to the congressman, thus slowing down the approval. She was already on the desk, just hang tight. Your case is totally different. You are past 200 days waiting and now at a local office. Your contacting people is well beyond justified and any help any elected official can get you is needed. Your encouraging of people who filed in late July and August and September to go to Senators, Congressman, VP, etc. is not necessarily going to help. It might even hurt (like the case of a file being pulled from an adjudicator to respond to an inquiry). Now, congressman usually ignore requests from people for inquiries if they have not waited the 6 months as per USCIS website processing times so that something like this does not happen.

So, I am not looking to cause trouble. But, you are not the first person on VJ to contact the VP or the first lady or VP's wife (second lady?). They have failed to draw results from this. Most people who tried this get no effective or significant response. You got transferred to a local office, which will cause a further delay. Did your contacting the VP or some other pol cause this result or was it something else in your case? We just don't know. And if it was your contacting of the pols that did cause the transfer, was it a good thing? It will only extend your wait and increased your troubles from what I can tell. Lets see how this works out. If that transfer results in a quick approval, and there is a chance that your contact to the VP helped make it happen, then by all means when a persons wait extends beyond the "norm" you should suggest making the calls and the faxes and the emails like you did, citing your case as a success of this method.

In summary, your case is unusually, you have the right to be frustrated and to vent and look for support on VJ. Please be careful in suggesting to others who have waited much shorter times than you to try to push things forward by contacting or harassing elected officials. It might hurt more than help. People who have waited 3 months are frustrated, they need reassurance that this broken process takes that long and then some (I know I was there).

Cheers, best of luck and good to have you back Gogo.

Glad to see you back gogo, I feel sorry for what I posted 2 weeks ago, Just like what other vj's said, I only posted what I feel, I feel deppressed that time, so..... , I don't expect that my post caused misunderstandings between the members. You were just trying to help me just like the other members. You were one of those whose very supportive and I really appreciate people like you.

Now I got my approvals for both I-129f and I-130 and now waiting for it to arrive at nvc. I really hope and pray that you may hear something soon, not just you but for those who are still waiting. Goodluck for all of us.

May we have a speedy journey...,Peace!!!!!

I can't believe even little details you miss.. guess they really lower the bar to let who can come to the US , huh?

You'll gain no compassion with comments like these.

Your timeline shows you barely waited 3 months time from the time you applied, so you don't know the frustration of having to wait..

Who are you to gauge what Jen has been through? Many others have waited longer than you, and they don't parade around assuming that they deserve compassion from everybody. So you are in immigration despair? Welcome to VJ! Don't weed out others opinions because they haven't met your definition of suffering. Jesus......

Thanks Matt.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I found some more info, but still doesn't answer why specifically...

I tried finding the Local Field Office number, but couldn't.. and the USCIS people aren't really helpful either..

http://www.immigrationportal.com/archive/i...p/t-118907.html

Cases transferred to a local USCIS office usually mean interview. Strange to get the primary approved, but the derivative transferred and interviewed though. It could mean something didn't seem right in the application, anything from medicals to gaps in status, but it's weird that they didn't issue an RFE instead, especially in light of approving the primary. If you are using a lawyer, you might want to get their advice. Did you get married recently (i.e., within 6 months prior to filing 485? Did you file separately or on the same date?... those are some of the things that can trigger investigation from other posts I've seen here on the forum).

http://www.immigrationportal.com/archive/i...p/t-137582.html

At Murthy.com (http://www.murthy.com/news/ukcscupd.html), they explain the interviews as: Certain I-485 cases are set for interviews at the local offices. There are some types of cases that will almost always be scheduled for interviews. When an individual has a criminal background or prior serious immigration violations, s/he usually is required to undergo an in-person interview at the local USCIS office.

Hi Go-Go.

I know that it's beyond frustrating not to have an answer let alone an approval. Hopefully, your official inquires will get you some results. I feel a meeting/interview will help you in the long run.

I'll share with you something we found out when our case went south for a bit.

After our I-130 was approved and made it's way to the NVC, it was almost completed when we were told that it was requested back by the USCIS. The USCIS said they had no record of the request. My husband made several info pass appointments and finally convinced the Agent to contact the NVC to find out who asked for it back.

We ended up finding out that it was returned to the CSC and that local offices have a different system that does not show CSC inquires or actions. I always assumed everyone was on the same page. We still don't know why they requested it from the NVC but thankfully it made it's way back and is now at the Consulate.

I hope it works out for you.

I hope that you and your spouse will be together soon!!

Gogo left VJ because he felt his comments were unwelcomed. There are a bunch of know it alls around here, who post their nasty comments. Listen up people...if you dont like what the OP is posting....JUST IGNORE THE THREAD!! Simple as that! No need to get nasty and rude. Respect each other and move on.

I agree with you G&A. On another note, I miss him around here, he was always very helpful. So I don't understand why some of you where so nasty.

Welcome back GOGO.

Hi Pechez, congrats on your recent approvals!! Now you are on your way to the NVC and hopefully out of the hands of the US.. =) I hope that you and your spouse get together soon!! At least we will know that USCIS is still getting those approvals out.. Well, my problem still remains so I will try to do more research on the internet.. if you need any help, I can do some more research for you too.. just try and learn more about this confusing "visa" system..

Hi Divine Mercy! Thanks for welcoming me back!! Thanks for your support and helping me understand more about the visa journey with your experience.. I'm sorry to hear that your I-129F got cancelled, but you managed to get your approved I-130 back on track.. you may have to wait a few months longer (probably half a year?), but at least when she comes everything will be much better than the I-129F.. she will be able to work immediately, and go to school and that kind of good stuff.. I was hoping for an I-130 approval.. I'll take any at this time.. haha.. Like I said to others, even with just an approval in my hands, I have something to hold onto.. I'm willing to wait another 6 months if needed..

so your thoughts on lawyers are bad? I have also contact this CIS Ombudsman guy (Ptriki, something like that).. and also contact www.aila.org (AILA is the lawyers association).. someone called me from there and recommended I get a lawyer.. that is the reason I asked, haha.. seems with security checks they don't want to hurry it up.. probably just testing me to see if I really care about my case.. Like you said, I might even teach the immigration lawyer something.. I'll charge him a fee too, haha.. but seriously, we miss each other very much and I have told my wife everything so far.. we discuss this "visa" problem almost everyday.. hopefully something will come up

wow Just Jackie I'm sorry about your unfortunate experience.

GOGO welcome back!! some of us are very happy to see you here! you have always been very helpful to me and i value all of your experience. I wish there was something I could do for you in your time of need! I do have to say your email to the vp was an excellent idea and its something I'm going to do if I can't get my senators to stop the termination of my K3. I really hope you don't leave again. There are people in here who pray for you and care about you and your wife that would like to know the outcome or see your progress. We're pulling for you.. please don't let us always wonder if you're ok.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for. Just an opinion about lawyers? I happen to think they take your money and do nothing. The majority of them don't act fast. I personally think you would be better off continuing your own research. You care more about your situation than any lawyer would. I don't think they have any intimidation perks either. USCIS doesn't care if you are Gogo or Gogo, Esquire. They'll stick it to you either way. (I don't think they care if you are Congressman Gogo either). I have a feeling that if you hire a lawyer you will be calling him/her everyday telling him/her what you found out anyway. You will be a free course on immigration for him/her. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go for an initial consultation to see what you can find out. Pick their brains!

Have you tried that Ombudsman route?

Hi C and J, Thanks for welcoming me back and giving your support! I really appreciate it. Yes, like you said, this whole journey would be worth it at the end.. a much well-received reward =).. that is worth every fight that I am willing to give them.. I see some people on visajourney give up (ending in divorce) because the USCIS is taking so long with their cases.. you shouldn't let USCIS control your lives.. never, ever give up the fight to be with your spouse and loved ones.. We should not suffer for their mistakes.. Like many a posts I read on the internet, the USCIS department isn't doing a good job with their recent fee hike.. It is causing them major trouble with not just applicants , but lawyers (and U.S. attorneys who represent the USCIS) as well... about the DCF, would I still be able to do that after I file I-130 or I-129F? sorry, didn't do much research on DCF since it didn't apply to me from the start..

Thank you. Hope you and your spouse can get together for the holidays or at least New Year 2008...

I really hope you don't leave again. There are people in here who pray for you and care about you and your wife that would like to know the outcome or see your progress. We're pulling for you.. please don't let us always wonder if you're ok.

Ditto to this. There are people on here who truly care about your journey. I am as invested in the journeys of those who I have been going through this all along side me, as I am with my own journey. It is heartbreaking for you to be stuck in the process and not know the next time your petition may be looked at but keep yourself and your wife strong. Being together at the end of all this will be worth every peice of heartache you are going through now. If I was the one going through this, I would have withdrawn completely. The fact that you are continuing on, researching and looking at every possible avenue to move this along, shows your determination.

Everyone suffers their own journey. Some are lucky enough to have shorter ones than others but, unless they are DCF, they DO know the pain of being separated from someone they love. This journey is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy :(

Keep strong.

Hey Susie, I will try to contact that number you gave me.. Thank you very much!! But first, I will have to prepare all my information again (I had sent all my stuff to her when I went back in October).. just in case I have an interview here.. hopefully I will get a nice person who approves my case at the local office.. How is your application coming? The case isn't even in the system? Is there any way you can find out why? That's a new one for me to figure out, haven't seen that a lot.. do you have a "Delivery Confirmation" (USPS or UPS?).. maybe that and a copy of your check can show them you sent a I-130..

Babes welcome back yeahhhh......you got my emails, I got yours .....please call as I will give you the information for the woman at USC - omg a wealth of unfound knowledge and they are on some type of case review with USCIS and the backlogs and issues.

Rebecca, Thank you for apology! I have to apologize to you too.. I was just under so much pressure with this "security check" and the sudden transfer of my case to a "local office".. I still don't have a definite answer for that "transfer" yet.. and there really isn't a way to find that out (Local office doesn't have phone number and USCIS will just give excuses.. they even said my app was still in "processing times", oh god..) Thank you very much for your renewed support.. I'm sorry if I have been talking in riddles lately.. guess this problem has really taken me for a turn.. Yes, I have seen some cases that have taken much longer.. that is unfortunate of them too.. I was just hoping something will be done (at least have an I-130 approval, haha , even without the I-129F).. something to hold onto.. I apologize for trying to "scare" other people who have just applied..

Yes, my information may be confusing at times.. for instance, this "local transfer" of both I-130 and I-129F to a local office.. The information that I was able to find on the web was only for the I-485 (Naturalization).. I found that the local office doesn't even do I-130 or I-129F.. but the closest I was able to find was that information about "apparant fraud".. I guess that is all I can go by.. but I do get some scary news about "security checks" though.. with the AP (Administrative Checks) sometimes taking more than a year or two.. hehe, I still have that to look foward to.. but it was rarely do they do a check before it even gets approved.. anyway, too much about me =) like you said..

I am glad that you are able to pass this visajourney.. you were able to overcome all the obstacles that you had.. You should enjoy more time with your spouse that you so very much had deserved to be with.. Life is too short and you should have more fun.. We are all wanting to start a wonderful life with our loved ones soon.. This visa journey has been rough for all of us.. We are lucky to have such a place to talk about our problems..

Thanks again, Rebecca!!

Hi Urge To Race,

Thanks for your support!! Yes, I was a little too quick in trying to help her without looking at her information.. I didn't realize she was only waiting 130 days.. In today's terms, that is well below average for time to get approved.. I have seen a few people who totally gave up on their visa journey and filed for divorce because of the government's mistakes.. I just wanted pechez and the others to feel that never to give up, no matter what.. maybe it will cause a delay in your case, (like mine with my continued push to email congressmen and senators and the such).. I guess I wanted to get more people to see my case, so that they realize that the USCIS has a big problem and that it needs reform.. In the beginning, I had just started to email a few congress people, but lately, I just found any fax number and just faxed it to them.. hopefully, the more people know about situations like my case, then they will lobby to fix the immigration.. Yes, I apologize for the quick reply without looking at all the information.. Maybe I was just a little too excited about my case and wanted others to push harder too..
