Of course there are worse things than we are experiencing now.

This may be all a bit too Pollyanna but let's remember that it's coming up to the holiday season and we are all on these boards because we are lucky enough to have found the person we want to spend the rest of our lives with. It's not nice to be apart but there are thousands of people who will be alone this Christmas because they actually don't have anyone at all.

We're not helping the visa process go faster by attacking or dismissing each other here - perhaps we can agree to disagree and leave it at that?

See why I refuse to be helpful to people on VJ, rebeccajo? It's much more satisfying to ridicule and torture them. They'll just jump all over you if they don't agree with your advice, so why even bother?

But then, your wait wasn't long enough so nothing you say carries any weight at all.....

:innocent:

If you follow prpoerly Rebecajo she was insisting I-130 was as late as the other cases. It was evidently the slowest and she still think it is still in an acceptable range. but for most of us is too much but evidently we can do nothing . But the idea of VJ is to share ideas based on reality. If she denies the reality she is not helping any body. I guess "germanchick2052" was referring that. SO "PlatyPius" dont confuse people. Help people in reality. I guess rebecajo is tired of explaing as her last post reminded us. She mentione about the realities of life after marriage bla bla. That is not the issue here. Here we are discussing Visa not marriage councling.

:ranting:

I never said anything was 'acceptable'. I don't just flip off a reply in a thread and I don't write in such a way that you need to read between the lines. Don't make something out of what I wrote that was not in there.

I am not the one denying reality. You and others are if you rely on conjecture instead of facts.

Bla bla bla I was also not discussing marriage counseling or the need for it. You people expect me to be 'empathetic' and 'sensitive' to you and your situation, but it's ok for the rest of you to categorically make me out to be some sort of moron, twit or monster. I was reminding you there can be worse things in life than what you are experiencing now. Excuse me if that's too much like 'reality' for you.

For what it is worth Rebeccajo - I understand completely what you are trying to say and think you are right on target.

Or perhaps not - perhaps we can keep slugging it out here amongst ourselves - what fun!

Life is great Life is wonderful...ok the meds have kicked in ...

Two pounds worth here and see where it goes..

Some issues revolved around what is being processed and what is on hold? My only issue is I would like to have a timely receipt sometime before February knowing that its somewhere. My husband and I know the rest of the journey will be long, but at least we will have a receipt number to enter into the system. German and quite a few others are just waiting for that. Six month process afterwards, I would consider a gold star and it wont happen. THATS OK with me. Just tell me where my applications are and if they are lost, so be, so I can sort it out and get them out again.

Are the I-130's on hold - yes of course they were - will they be sorted now that Chicago issue has kicked in, they have to, why institute the policy if they were a problem? Hopefully it will start to even out as we go into the New Year, ok super positive here but what else can I think.

Again, each person is unqiue in their situation, and thank god for this forum to research what has happened before, how it was handled and what to do.

Is life a bowl of cherries or even grapes once they get here? Im not a kid, I know life deals us ups and downs and I know that it will take two to make it happen - Im lucky enough to have a great mate that strives every day to say I love you and hang in there. I am lucky to know that this whole journey will be mentally and spiritually challenging for all. What the outcome will be for anyone is another pounds worth, but we do hope its a good one.

Do I treasure the posts from people that have the experience of what its like to go through this whole process? PRICELESS BEYOND ANY MONEY CURRENCY.

To bash another, or put them down for their views, never, for again as I stated, Life would be mudane if we were all clones.

Please all remember something, we have our ups and downs and just try to understand each others questions and our search for what to do. Tis all and with that, I wish all a good journey for I must keep going forward with the thought that something good will happen soon. For not to, would be failure as I put 110% into this effort each day - for me for my husband and yes for others.

Cheers all and keep moving forward with your posts and knowledge or questions,.

Perhaps everyone got it wrong. Perhaps they're all reading into things in ways they shouldn't. So what.

I'll cross my fingers that all you people who sent in your applications towards the end of August, whatever kind they are, get a NOA1 for Xmas. The wait after is bearable, you'll have the relief of knowing that you don't have to send in a new application and your forms made it to the right place to get you on your visa journey. (L)

Someone had an idea that if enough of us VJ'ers start requesting a congressional inquiry or at least making a complaint to our congressman, some sort of action will have to be taken.

Meaning that, there will be some much buzz coming into our congressmans office regarding all these I-130 delays it could give us media coverage to some sort of degree.

Things that could happen:

1) USCIS will get flooded with calls from the congressman asking about how the receipting will be resloved on I-CR1/IR1 cases. This could light a fire under USCIS to make them start processing these petitions first rather than all other petitions.

What I am hoping is that we all request information or make a complaint to our congressman regarding our own individual cases.....stating hardship from being away from husbands, wives, and children. We state that is is extremely difficult to be in the process without even knowing if our petition is received. That our checks should be cased and and NOA1 be issued in a much timely fashion as to alleviate the anxiety of not knowing if our petition has even been received. We should state that the process of moving K1 visas faster than family K3/CR1/IR1 visas is ludicrous (not that I have anything against K1 folks, but it is quite unfair).

I realize (as most all of us do) that receipting is delayed and congress does not usually do anything until after an NOA1 or at least after the USCIS timeframe has passed. However I am saying to look beyond that and just send in a request anyway.....send in a complaint ANYWAY! This way congress can see just how many people are waiting. This way congress can hear all the stories and see the pictures of couples and their families that are waiting to be reunited (Thats right...if you can send a digital photo in your email to your congressman send that to).

Maybe just maybe we can pull on the heart strings on the congressmen to make some sort of decision to hault other applications for awhile and have USCIS move on the pending I-130's.

If anyone has any feedback or comments on how to get VJ'ers waiting for I-130 in on this please post away.

Also if someone has an easy link on how to search your local congressman please post. I will try to draft up an email of my story that I want to send and post it here. Just to give everyone a starting point. i think the emails should be very reflective of your own circumstances so that congress sees that these are all individual cases needing serious attention.

Thanks All!

~M. (L)

Say what?! Why do you think your case should have priority over ALLLL the others out there? Only you miss your family? Everyone here on VJ misses their fiance, husband or whomever. We all dealt with the separation. Why in the world do you feel they should hault processing everyother case except I-130 is beyond me.

Learn to read you moronic idiot.

It's a little late since the news of the backlog has been carried in major newspapers. They are now extimating that immigration to the U.S. will take 14 months due to a huge number of applications in July and August.

I'd jump for joy if i thought if things were going to get completed in 14 months. Sadly my wife was told realistic expectation was 3 to 5 years.
