Still, they go on and say this:

As of November 30, 2007, USCIS has completed initial data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions received on or before the dates indicated:

Needless to say, have no idea what "TPS" stands for but since it's the only option for sending to a lockbox, I understood this is where AOS applications stand.

BUT... I filed on Nov. 13 and still no NOA. Upon calling uscis, they gave me at phone the same story" wait 15 weeks and then worry".

Interesting enough is that "USCIS is working to ensure all Applications for Adjustment of Status (I-485) are receipted and any accompanying applications for employment authorization documents (EADs) are processed within 90 days. USCIS is realigning its resources to meet this deadline".

Maybe they will send first the EAD authorization and then the NOA1 ))

That's great; hopefully we'll receive ours soon - maybe even before the holidays!

I didn't apply for AP since I know I'm not going home soon. but i really need that work authorization

Oh yeah! I feel so spoiled being a Canadian. I'd probably be in the same boat when I comes to AP if I didn't live so close to home (in a manner of speaking.) We miss my family lots and can't wait to go visit them; unfortunately it's not so easy for them to come visit us. So we won't be able to see them until I get AP most likely! The work thing is not so important to us although we're looking forward to my authorization for that, too, should we need/want me to work - it sure would haev been nice if I could have worked right now, though, b/c my days are kind of long when my husband is at work (as I'm sure it is for many who came on the same visa! )

I was prepared to wait three months or so just for the dang receipt but I got it in two weeks also. I hope you get yours soon.

I received all three NOA's just now!

So what's next? Checking my case status online I guess?

took us about 8 days to get our NOA1's for two of the applications...then another 5 days or so for the last NOA1 for some reason. all were dated the same day too so many one was lost in the mail.

30 days = 1 month!

How long did it take most of you to get your NOA after you sent your AOS package? I know it hasn't been that long yet for us just yet but we can't wait for the response...! Especially for AP...

Got me 10 days to get the NOA's because as I've read in USCIS webpage MSC is not as backlogged as other SCs!

With green card the person can travel. It supercedes (is that the word?) the AP and the EAD.

Yes I think that is correct! AP is for before we get our green cards, if we need to travel. So... if you're not going to be travelling to your home country in the near future then you don't really need AP (assuming you get your green card in due time, and not 2 years or something! )
