don't you mean 'an item of amusing headgear'? ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I found Crackers at Linens & Things last night here in CT. I had called the store earlier in the week and asked if they had any. The girl said "you mean the things that go pop?.. no we don't have any more".. I didn't trust her inventory count so I went in last night and either they got another shipment in or she didn't know what I was asking for. They had a whole row of them in 2 sizes (normal and xtra small). No jumbo or deluxe ones. AND they were made in Canada

I'm thinking maybe I could make my own. All I need is 4 toilet paper tubes, some shiny gift wrap and a few baubles to put in them and some amusing head gear, which I suppose I could also make from some tissue. No idea where I'd get the "cracker" part of it, but maybe at the toy store in the cap-gun section. hmmm....

TJ Maxx has them... $9.99 for 12, they're pretty good ones too.

I had to buy more as the dog chewed up the first lot I got, but I'm kind of glad he did because these ones are better than the ones I got at my local British store (and cheaper!) :)

Guess what I found in our box of Christmas decorations? 4 crackers! Left overs from last year :) I'm all set now. Unless someone unexpected shows up right around brunch time...

Picked up some yesterday at a gift shop next door to my office -- staggeringly priced. The most expensive ones were $40 for 6! I felt ripped off buying 10 for $20, but I wanted to have some at Christmas and the local TJ Maxx has been picked bare. Speaking of which, the 'British Foods' aisle at the Stop & Shop was particularly bare of its usual selection of Cadbury's Flakes (the real deal), Bisto gravy granules, bread sauce mix and Mint Aeros -- must be Christmas, then! ;)
