Awe you guys are a bunch of sentimental fools!!!

Can I join you??

Yep I do think we are stronger for it.. When I see couples around me getting married, they often haven't really talked about many of the really important things but with us we have no surprises. We spent so much time truly talking about our goals, our values, our priorities, that in many ways we do understand each other more deeply and it has lead to a very smooth transition for us (we're also both divorced and both older which helps in some respects as well).

Do I remember the first moment I saw him?.. Yep.. he walked into my hotel room and he was so nervous.. It was akward but still amazing to see in front of me the man that I have been waiting for my whole life. The weekend together was amazing. We climbed a mountain together (literally), such a picture of the rest of our lives together!!

Aww this thread is better than a chick flick!

I remember the first time I came down here to visit him, it was my first time EVER in the states and he actually came up to get me and drive me back down. I had my nose pressed up to the window the whole drive down.

Since we're close to Philadelphia he took me to see South St. But he didn't know they were having their mardi gras celebrations. There were cops all over the place, and people yelling and a few fights here and there. I remember being in shock and sooo scared. We had to come back home because I was so overwhelmed.

It was a year ago last month that I got my Visa in Vancouver. Last year at this time I was packing and sorting, and saying goodbye to all my dear friends. This will be our first Christmas together as husband and wife. We're not going to go anywhere this year, just stay in St. Louis. We're going to reflect on how much love, joy and blessings were bestowed on us in 2007! This will be my first Christmas ever without my children as well, so there will be also a huge ache in my heart. New beginnings though, right?

The first time I met Gene, I flew to St. Louis. I called as arranged at Minneapolis airport, and we both just bawled. I was such a snotty girl! After I arrived in St. Louis, I was coming down the hallway in the terminal, and saw the love of my life.... My heart squeezed real tight, and I melted. He was the most incredibly beautiful man I'd ever seen...He had this huge grin ear to ear. With a bouquet of flowers and a balloon, he opened his arms and surrounded me. This was all I ever needed in my life. My kindred spirit was real...he whispered in my ear..."you are the most beautiful woman I've ever met. I love you."

:crying:

I must go...oh my

Aww that's CUTE!

I kind of wish I had better words for my husband when I first met him, instead of just giggle snorting and saying: "I had a bit of wine while waiting, your plane was a bit late" LOL

Completely off topic here - but the title for this thread, Epiphany that rhymes with Tiffany - there is some silly song that has the words .....that rhymes with ...... and I can't think of it but my mind is trying to dredge it up every time I see this title

You're all so darn sweet you make me sick.... <_<

KIDDING.

Indeed, this site is a lifesaver - even for those of us who were fortunate enough to be with our partners through the process. Most peepz out there just don't get the magnitude of going through these hoops (and seriously, how would they?), so being here is indeed a gift for us.

Wuvyah all.

p.s. I've heard from a reliable source some things about Laura's cold feet...

Hahaha, I forgot aboutTHAT Tiffany! I think I repressed the memory because it was so traumatic! Ah well, see, remembering is the first step to recovering. This is better than a 12-step program.

I remember the first time I met my fiance. Only I did not expect him to be the man I would spend the rest of my life with at the time. In fact, I did not expect to see him again even! He was just a really charming and funny "real life" friend of one of my internet friends. It took us another three and a half years to fall in love!
