I would like to say hello to everyone on here. Congratulations to those who have their spouse with them after the whole process and my thoughts to those who don't for whatever the reason may be. We happen to be one of those couples who although is rich with true love, is poor financially. I would like to say a few things for anyone who cares to listen. I am on disability and I barely make 6.000 a year on SS which is about 11,000 short to the income requirement for the I-864 as most you probably already know. My wife is from Europe and the only joy I have in my life, I am sure people with clinical depression understand how it is.My wife has managed to fill the empty spots in my heart and give me her total support with everything I am going through. I don't mean to rant but a couple years ago when we got married, we had the hope that someone in my family would sponsor her since my income is not sufficient. The only person that could do it since my parents don't have the income or assets either. We lived on that promise for months and months to come until we filled the paperwork, sent the money, got approved and then when it was time for them to fill out the form, they backed off. They just dashed our last hope, they didn't even saying they were sorry for all the heartache. We both forgave her and we kept looking for someone with a heart that could do it. Almost 2 years later we keep looking. We never gave up and never will. How we see each other is mainly me visiting her in her country for a little while, but we still have our hopes and our love. I would like to ask everyone of you if there is a way that someone, somehow, could sponsor her. Even an organization, foundation, anybody. We are in a desperate situation, if I could get hired somewhere to work to make the income I would gladly do it. I haven't worked in years because of my disability but if I could find any job just to bring my wife to me, I could. The problem is nobody I have asked would hire me after so many years of unemployment. I am just asking all of you if you can help us with a solution. Words can't explain how we both feel... We just pray for a miracle. Thank you all for reading and may God bless you.

Tony

Dear Delicia,

I have asked anybody I could. I have gone to many churches to get the same response. We can't do it. Help one another is not something they go by, apparently. As for friends, unfortunately those that want to do it, don't have the income or assets and those that don't want to do it, do. Wellwishers try to tell us we have no hope but we do keep out faith. We would both give anything to be able to be together. Only those who live separately and who are truly in love can understand this feeling. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Dear Len and Bren,

Thank you, but I am not sure if a hardship letter would help. As for immigrating to her country, she lives with her parents and when the parents don't want you just because you are poor then that is when it begins. I am not ashamed to say I am poor, I just wish there was a way to be with my wife. Funny thing some people who are not in love can be together, yet those who are can't...

Tony

How about a hardship letter? I've heard of something like that somewhere. Or perhaps immigrate to her country? Sorry you're going through this.
