Oh that's too bad!! How long did it take you to get the 'wrong' one?

A person I know who was waiting for their fingerprint check (submitted through Calgary Police at the end of May) called last week to see where it was up to, since it has been 7 months.

It was never sent to the RCMP. When they went to the Police Service, they had the prints taken and then went back upstairs, said to the person - are we done? They said yes, all good, blah blah blah.

When they called the other day they were told that they were supposed to go and have another set taken that day. No letter, no phone call, nothing. So since they are in the States now they had to go to the local police station, do fingerprints and send them to the RCMP. I mean really.

I'd like to share our HORRIBLE experience with the fingerprints.

We went to the Commissionaires in Vancouver in June for digital fingerpriting. Digital fingerprints are more expensive but with results in 3-4 weeks, so we thought. The person at the Commissionaires office wrote "OTHER- Immigrating to the US" under reason for fingerprints. The RCMP rejected the fingerprints for an unknown reason. Anyway, I called after 4 weeks of not receiving the results to find out that we needed to go BACK to Vancouver for another set of fingerprints. Please keep in mind this is a 10 hour drive roundtrip. The clueless lady at the Commissionaires told us the reason they were rejected was because they did not get a good set of fingerprints from him (bull-the computer won't accept them if they aren't good). We took her word for it and went BACK to Vancouver in August for another set of fingerprints (20 hours of driving). Again, she typed OTHER- Immigrating to the US. After another month of waiting, I called to discover they were rejected again. The same lady said to come back again (which would be 30 hours of driving) for more fingerprints. I was UNHAPPY, so I called the RCMP to find out what the heck was going on. Apparently, they were rejected because they typed "OTHER-Immigrating to the US" and they were supposed to type "VISA/BORDER CROSSING" under reason for fingerprints. They were NOT rejected because he had bad fingerprints. I told this to the Commissionaires lady and asked her if there is ANYWAY they could just correct the mistake and resend the same fingerprints. She told me that it would not work because it would be the same transaction number or some bs like that. We eventually went with the ink and paper fingerprints at the local RCMP, enclosed our sob story, and we finally received our results after 3 sets of fingerprints and over 5 months of waiting. To make things worse, the Commissionaires will not give us a refund. I get all worked up talking about it!!
