I've just arrived in the US with an IR-1 visa. My wife is a US citizen and could add me in her health insurance, but it is very expensive. I am thinking to buy one for me, but some companies require that you have lived in the US for at least one year, that is not my case. I would like to have suggestions about health insurance for immigrants.

Welcome to USA. For now, adding yourself with your wife's health insurance would be the best option. Should you decide to work later, you can find out the health insurance offered by your future employer.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
