I'm gonna reply in English cause it might be easier for you to understand. What happened was that NVC received our case in Feb 26 (Friday) and we paid the visa fee on this website: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/pt-br/niv you should create and account and pay the fee and schedule the interview on the website itself.

Once you do that, you can contact the doctor you're intending to see and schedule an appointment. I am from RIO, so I did all the medical exams on Monday and the interview on Tuesday. So, in other words, we scheduled my interview about 12, 13 days before (less than a week since NVC received our case).

To be 100% sure whether your case is ready for the interview, go to this website https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx , select IMMIGRANT VISA (IV) and type your NVC case number.

Boa sorte!!!

Ok thank you very much. She lives in Brasilia and from what I am reading she can not do the medical in Brasilia. So I'm just going to plan on arriving in Rio two days early to do the medical. We do not have our NOA2 yet but it should be coming soon. Thank you for the links and the response. I'm hoping that I can schedule both the interview and the medical very quickly after the Consulate receives the visa application because I have a deployment in July. Thanks again and congratulations on your approval. And thanks also for replying in English.

You're welcome! =) but seriously, as soon as you receive a case number and the website says READY, schedule your interview. It won't take long to get a date, I guess. Try calling NVC and tell them you work in the military, that might speed things up a little bit. You can easily arrive on a Sunday, do your medical exams on Monday, the interview on Tuesday morning and fly back to Brasilia. I've heard of people who did the medical exams in the morning and the interview in the afternoon of the very same date =)

Bom dia everyone. My fiancé is from Rio de Janeiro and is currently trying to obtain his Police Certificate from the Policia Civil. We were both under the impression that we could get the certificate online, and we did manage to get the Federal Police certificate online very easily. When we go online to the Policia Civil website they always say there is something wrong with his name and that there weren't enough digits in his RG number. Anyways today he went allllllll the way to the Centro to resolve this issue with the Policia Civil in person and they are sending him to Poupa Tempo in Ipanema... Basically my question is, Is there anyone else trying to obtain these Police Certificates and is the same thing happening to you??

Well, if I got what your issue is, for the State Police certificate, I found it here http://atestadodic.detran.rj.gov.br, it's a Secretaria de Segurança do Estado document, and it's online, you ask for the document and then authenticate it next step... but I'm not pretty sure it's what they want...

Think I'm as confused as you are ?

I got there and that is the document they want, its just when I go to put in my fiance's information they say his RG number is wrong and his name is wrong for some odd reason. I tried and he tried there in Brazil and it just would not work... Let me know if it works for you.

"Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask."
