Again, as people have stated, isn't this an open forum for everyone to share? If he wants to post about being dissatisfied, who cares? No sense in causing troubles, everyone is unhappy with this system, it's a place to vent.

You are correct, it is an open forum, and I didn't say he couldn't share his opinion. I have an opinion to share also.

For the record, I'm not criticizing anyone for venting at USCIS. My point was that the poster (and it's not just him) was taking shots at VJ members who have been approved, rather than sucking it up and either congratulating them or doing what mom always said and not saying anything if you can't say anything nice.

Just as people have the right to vent how bitter and completely unhappy they are with the process, others have the same exact right to voice that it isn't exactly the most productive or healthy thing to do, over and over and over ad nauseam. :)

Maybe you didn't get his point. I think he is not pissed off at the vj member cause they got approved. What bothers him and still bothers me is the way employees at VSC work cause it is not fair at all to make you wait over 200 days while they are approving 3-4 months old petitions, you know what I mean?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them but it is not the way things are supposed to work.....

Who was attacking them? I sure wasn't. I was attacking the fact that they are being approved before all of May is even dealt with. I'm sure my being pissed about that has not changed their joy over being approved. In fact, I would be happy as hell if they were bitching about me getting an approval. That said, I have every right to be pissed, as does Lora, Mirla, Scott, and everyone else that was overlooked.

I didn't see anyone taking shots anywhere. I have no idea who this mystery October filer is.

Whenever we have been pissed with the process we have prefaced with "We're happy with the person who got approved, just mad at VSC".

Billy, along with Lora, Virgil, Ric and until lately, Mirla, have waited WAY longer than a lot of people out there. Not everything they say is negative. And they hang around and we all commiserate. Like many others I have stuck around to lend support to those still waiting.

I think at this point we are all fed up with the process. That is what is being voiced here, not the fact that someone else got approved. Those of us who have been here reading know this.

If someone went into a congratulations thread and vent his frustrations there, I would have a problem. That is not the case here. The frustrations were kept in an environment where a majority of the people reading/posting know and understand the feelings of the poster.

It's not blatant, but it does happen. It usually goes something like "Congratulations! Only 89 days, I guess they forgot about us <enter your month> filers." That's not a congratulatory note, that's sour grapes with a painted on smile.

Posting a message that says "Another approval today...filed in October. BS." right after that filer posts their approval is a slap in the face, even if it's not a direct response to their approval message. We should all be here supporting one another, not raining on each others' parades when we get good news.

The person didn't even post here. I took it from the statistics. Seriously, I will congratulate every person that is approved here, even if they filed 3 days ago. I'm not angry at them, I'm angry at the process, or lack thereof.

I want everyone in this thread to know that if you filed before I did and I am approved before you, feel free to be pissed off. I will still be happy, but you have every right to be angry and voice that displeasure. In fact, if I'm approved before Lora, that will be total BS.

There are many ways of finding out when people get approved besides reading what they say in their own threads, or monthly filer threads.

I highly doubt anyone here still waiting is scouring other threads to see which filers are getting approved faster.

That is besides the point. Billy did not mention anyone by name.

And while we need to support one another, not everyone is going to be happy for others all the time, especially if they have been waiting this long. People have gone from supportive to sad to angry (depending on how long they have waited). They have a right to feel the way that they do. And not everyone is going to be happy all the time. We all break down sometime.

Coming here and saying he shouldn't have done that does not help.

"Coming in here"?

Topics are separated into threads so there is not a cacophony of multiple discussions going on at the same time in a single thread. Nobody (with the probable exception of CE) owns these threads, not even the OP. We are all VJ members, and nobody should be discouraged from posting in any particular thread. There are plenty of non-September filers who post in the September thread, we even have Canadian filers drop into the Russian forum from time to time. I could list dozens and dozens of other examples. Of course, I really didn't expect a big hug and open arms from some of the regulars when I posted my criticism (although I have posted in this thread before and was never asked to leave), but as a VJ member I wanted to voice my opinion on a trend I was seeing in this particular thread. I did so in a respectful manner, and I was as non-confrontational as I could be given the circumstances. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, and I certainly knew it would rile the poster I was addressing. But I think we're all adults here and hopefully we can take a little bit of criticism. What we do with that criticism is our own choice, either ignore it or accept it. But let's not get into the whole "get out of our thread intruder!" mentality. Disagree with me if you will, that's cool, but respect my right to post within the guidelines of the TOS and I'll respect yours.
