We got a RFE notice mailed December 21..............What happened????????....the lawyer said we had everything perfect..........OMG :cry::cry::cry:

Thanks Guys.....I have no clue what it could be...........What do they rfe frequently????....How long does it take to get the letter???.......Oh I feel so let down............I had hoped for the best and got this :wacko:

I got the letter fairly quickly...although I remember waiting seemed like an eternity...you can check my timeline for details...my RFE was for the long form of my divorce decree....there is also a RFE thread that may contain some help or ideas....the hardest part is waiting for that letter to see what it is...I hope its something quick and easy....good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! -melinda

Don't beat yourself up over it. Your attorney probably did everything right. USCIS sometimes decides to ask for something you are not "supposed" to be asked for until later on. Take us, we were asked for her translated birth certificate. Instead of being approved in October, we had to wait another month and a half to get the RFE cleared up.

OMG....We have already waited almost 7 months now......another month.......augh..........This is not the worse....being denied would be that but this is pretty bad....It took them so long to look at our petition to then have this......... :wacko: thanks for the encouragement.....I have been trying for so long.......

Hopefully, it's something simple like Byron's Lora, fingers crossed.

Also I just tried the online case status and it's working ... no noa2 of course but at least it doesn't say june 13 anymore :dance:

I'm just trying to tell you what happened to us. What you should know however is that it is very true that once they have logged your RFE reply, your approval generally comes quickly...just get it in as quickly as humanly possible. For some reason it took 2 weeks for our reply to get from our attorney in Oregon to California.

08-07-2007 : Received NOA1

12-23-2007 : NOA2 approved

12-27-2007 : NVC Received

01-10-2008 : Case forwarded to New Delhi Embassy by NVC.

01-14-2008 : New Delhi Embassy received our file from NVC.

01-24-2008 : Submitted Packet 3 at New Delhi Embassy.

02-06-2008 : Submitted docs at VFS.

02-21-2008 : Interview- visa was approved pending security.

02-25-2008 : Called NVC and they said Visa is approved. VFS- they didnt get it yet.

02-27-2008: Visa in HAND!!!!

09-12-2007: Petition returned by USCIS, asked to change to new fee schedule and resubmit

09-14-2007: Letter to congressman with copy of postmarked envelope asking for help with appealing rejection

09-20-2007: Reply from Congressman to send it back with old fee and copy of post-mark. Package sent again directly to VSC

09-24-2007: USPS delivered package to VSC at 2:32 PM
