The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

There have been so many approvals from late July that I began wondering if May, June and early July had really been skipped over. So of course I had to do some research. :P

Period Sent        NOA1's   Approved    Open   % Complete
    Jan             28         28         0       100
    Feb             41         41         0       100
    Mar             50         49         1        98
    Apr             46         42         4        91
    May             64         51        13        80
1st 1/2 June        46         29        17        63
2nd 1/2 June        23         18         5        78
1st 1/2 July        28         21         7        75
2nd 1/2 July        80         24        56        30

The lack of late June and early July approvals reported recently makes sense because it looks like those periods are 3/4 finished. The question still remains as to why May and the 1st half of June is lagging behind. It could be petitions from May have more than the normal number of RFE's and complicated name checks. The first half of June could have the same problems but it seems strange that only 63% of petitions have been completed when the second half is 78% finished.

The other thing I see is that despite the many approvals, there is still a long way to go before the second half of July is complete.

Thanks guys! Given how VSC has open petitions stretched from April to July, I am thinking I might be approved today, the end of January or anywhere in between.

I know; the uncertainty is the killer, isn't it :(

and what you said above was pretty much - like, close to word for word - what I've been telling people who've asked about our progress

VJ timeline searches. It is simple to do as long as you remember that VJ excludes the opening and closing dates in the search.

Bill, yup , makes sense!

I have just recieved an email saying

On December 6, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

But i cant check the online case since they are having matience problems. Does this mean everything is approved and that i do not have to mail back any additional information? I did not recieve any mail in the postal yet, just this email.

I was just curious if step 1 is complete?? Whats next now??

Hey guys (directed mainly at Bill I suppose),

I got a letter from NVC that gave me our case number and said blah blah in about a week your petition will be forwarded. This was 2 days ago. I, of course, called on...Wednesday, I believe, and was told it had already left. Hm.

My main concern however, is that they misspelled my fiancee's last name on this form. On both NOA1 and NOA2, her name is correct.

If I were to call DOS, could they tell me

1) If it's made it to London yet

2) If her name being misprinted on this letter is a problem

3) If it is, can they fix it?

On every document but this, her name is spelled right. I'd like to think that this letter is rather meaningless to the whole process but I'd like to know for certain before I assume it is and then find out "oh ####### that's a problem" when she gets to, say, the interview.
