Charlene, you would think after all the troubles THEY have caused throught your process they'd just hand you guys the visa! Is it even possible to use another Embassy in Canada that might be quicker? I'm so sorry for your troubles.

6 weeks from Tuesday we can send our petition! I bet it sounds funny to all of you waiting for your NOA2's or interviews but we have waited for this decree for years and to us it's like Christmas!!!

There are literally thousands of abandoned member profiles here on VJ. That really makes it difficult to get accurate info and averages, but it is very helpful when people make these charts.

I called the State Department today, went to the visa department of the state department and got to speak to someone.

She at first told me that it had not been sent to the wrong place that all visa go to Montreal for Canadains, (I have been told this

several times in the last two weeks....amazing that these workers don't know this is incorrect)....but anyway....I said that that was not correct

because I had been told by the NVC center that they had sent it to the wrong embassy.....

she asked me to hold on and after about 5 min. she came back and ask if I was still there and I said yes and she said she was

checking on it could I hold longer and I said yes of course, and another 5 minutes or longer went back....

This whole time I was on the phone I was reading my Bible and praying to God to please work this out....

she came back on the line and told me that I was correct....she called and talked to the NVC center and they told her that it had been sent to

the wrong place and that it was in Montreal.....THEN SHE SAID THIS....they are sending a CABLE to day and will have your case transfered to

Vancouver for you........I was so grateful I was in tears.....thanking her profusely for helping me......I got off the phone.....praising God and

crying.........I am so relived that she listened to me and didn't blow me off and that she kept working for those 10 minutes to see what could be

done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have know idea how to know when it will actually get to Vancouver.....but I am so grateful that it will be moved to the right place!!!!!!

Well... I have my own good news...

TODAY I got an approval email!

I just wrote another topic talking about it... but I had sworn off checking today to try to stop my depression - so of COURSE today is the day it comes. I could have saved myself a full day of worrying (and trying NOT to think/worry about it) if I had just checked my email or the status website like I normally do a bazillion times a day.

But WHO CARES? :)

I'm just so very thankful to be able to move to the next phase.

I'm still numb.

Also - OMG what now? I've been planning so long for this to happen, but now I realize how I focused too much on the getting the NOA2, and not enough on what to do now.

Umm... I guess I need to clean my house.

Well... it came today. I still can't believe, I keep expecting to wake up and realize that I'm still waiting.

I usually spend some time looking through the list and seeing if I notice that someone has posted that they were approved but haven't updated their timeline. I handle this in my program with a simple list of "special cases" that need to be tweaked. (Some slightly differently spelled duplicates, some I've seen have abandoned because of denial, some with incorrectly entered dates, etc.) As I notice these things, I add to this "exclusion/fix" list. (Currently maybe a dozen or so on this list.) But I admit, the last month, I've obsessed and looked for these problems mostly in the petitions before mine, not after. (if you see some i've missed - PM me, please.)

There are literally thousands of abandoned member profiles here on VJ. That really makes it difficult to get accurate info and averages, but it is very helpful when people make these charts.

This is why I added the idea of inactive profiles to the list generation. However, I've noticed that there are also a few user profiles that look to have a valid profile ID, but when you click on them, VJ just puts you back at the forum page. I'm guessing these are just no longer valid profiles for some reason? Anyway, now my program detects this, and just automatically counts those as inactive.

So... even though I normally wait until Sunday, I figured I'd do a celebratory list generation for the first list that I'm not on.

Here is the current list with the above functionality tweak:

Well... I have my own good news...

TODAY I got an approval email!

I just wrote another topic talking about it... but I had sworn off checking today to try to stop my depression - so of COURSE today is the day it comes. I could have saved myself a full day of worrying (and trying NOT to think/worry about it) if I had just checked my email or the status website like I normally do a bazillion times a day.

But WHO CARES?

I'm just so very thankful to be able to move to the next phase.

I'm still numb.

Also - OMG what now? I've been planning so long for this to happen, but now I realize how I focused too much on the getting the NOA2, and not enough on what to do now.

Umm... I guess I need to clean my house.
