Should I file for a fiance visa while I'm waiting..??

hello all...i hope all is going well and as easy as possible for all of us!!

my husband and i are stillll waiting for an interview date!!...since november 2007...

so, i want to know..would it make sense to apply for a fiance visa now?? or would he end up coming at the same time? i didn't know it was possible to apply for 2 visas at one time..

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You cannot apply for a K-1 (fiance visa) if you are already married. Are you thinking the K-3 maybe?

that's what i figured..honestly..at this point, i'm willing to pay them whatever they ask for, i just want to be with my husband again!! how long would the process take? would i be able to see my husband before next march or april?? or is that asking for too much?? haha...it's seriously been too long!

A new petition will not necessarily speed up the consulate phase of the process. Both the CR/IR visas and the K-3 visas are issued by the IV unit at the consulate. Since you are already in the queue, anything else would most likely just get in the line after your current .....

And, nothing is quick in this process. Since it is already into December, I'd guess a new submission would not get processed by March or April.

You have to file I-129F between NOA1 and NOA2 for I-130, after I-130 NOA2 you should stick to the superior Immigrant visa.

K-3 has the added pain of not being work authorized, and adjustment of status.

You've been waiting for your interview for a month-since Nov 2007?? That's not too long! Some embassies have wait times of 6+ months. Like most people said, please be patient and know we're all here waiting too!

thanks so much for all your advice guys!! yeah...one month since november...i know its not a lot yet..but i know we'll still be waiting for the interview...then after the interview will be about 5-8 months..

Keep checking the interview schedule for Cairo. One month isn't too long to wait for an interview although I know it feels like forever. Have you emailed Cairo and asked them how long it is taking to get an interview scheduled? I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Best of luck to you!
