Checklist and Instruction Packet Received - help

Hi all,

Recently I sent in my DS-230 with all necessary documents, using shortcut method for DS-230 once I knew that it was generated - it was generated 11-19-07, so I put this date down on my created DS-230.

I got USPS tracking info that NVC received my DS-230 and documentation on 11-26. Automated message now says that "NVC has received Checklist Letter on 11-28..." and that it will take about 8 weeks for them to review (I hope it doesn't take that long)...

Anyway, just today, in the mail, I received 2 separate packages from NVC - one is the "Instruction Packet" Letter for DS-230, with return envelope (The coversheet looks exactly like the one I sent them, with the date showing of 11-19, so Hooray, shortcut method worked!)....The other letter I received was the "CHECKLIST" letter saying that the NVC is missing information and that I should include this letter with whatever I return to them - however this letter looks different than the one I created. The letter is dated 11-22-07, so these 2 letters were sent to me BEFORE NVC received my DS-230 packet. It says the following on a third page in the packet:

"MISSING DOCUMENT LIST FOR: (Beneficiary's name)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

___OF-230-I:___________________________________

The NVC has received the AOS form (I-864) for this case. However, we are still waiting for the Immigrant Visa Applicatoin (DS-230). Please submit the form according to the instuctions. Uf you need another form please visit.........."

What does OF-230 mean??? So is this something that I should be worried about? Or does it appear to you that everyting in order? Is this normal? Anyone here with similar experience? What do you guys think?

Thanks a bunch!

It's just the old reference name for the DS-230, the form used to say this at the top:

This form (OF-230 PART I) is Part I of two parts which, together with Optional Form OF-230 PART II, constitute the complete Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration.

Anyway, no need to worry as your DS-230 obviously crossed with their request for the DS-230
