Hey guys...

Okay... I can't stand it anymore... I want to send an email to CSC... but, not exactly sure what I should say...

Can ya'll help me out?

What would YOU say?

Would you email them? Or would you call them?

I will appreciate any and all responses!

Thanks!

email them, be sweet to them, tell them you are sorry to bother them but you are anxiously awaiting a response from them and would like to have an idea as to when a decision will be made. i bet you get touched within a day.

Lynne,

I got impatient and called. After 4.5 months of waiting, I decided to call, its a call service but they send a message to the CSC. I told them I was frustrated that my case had not been approved yet and it was beyond the time that was quoted to me. The operater agreed with me (he probebly gets paid for that), anyway, long story short, case got approved the very next day.

I don't know if it was becuause I called or not, but its worth a shot.

I would email and not call - hear enough horror stories about that call center line.

I agree with Fuzzy - be sweet, be polite, but also be despairing. As for what to say - just that you havent heard and its over the time quoted - so as per the advice on the USCIS site you are contacting them for an update.

Good luck

i JUST emailed them 5 minutes ago. its prolly my 4th email to them in a month. i am ALWAYS sweet to them, and they always reply nicely. i was a bit aggrivated in this last email, but still maintained my politness as "im sorry to bother you" and "i know you have alot of work to do". But i let them for the first time ever see my frustration. I got tired of being TOO sweet. You can be sweet, but show a bit of hurt as well IMP.

Very good! You were alot nicer than I was. When I called, the call center person I got was really nice, I was nice too, but very direct.

I basically said, I'm calling to inquire about case #xxxxxxx. Its been in process for 4.5 months and I have not recieved a decision yet. I got an RFE for paperwork that was included in the original application and I would like to find out what the hold up is on my case.

JP... I sometimes feel like I let people use me for a doormat... lol

but, i did NOT want to get off on the wrong foot with CSC... at the moment, they hold my life in their hands!

now... with that said... when i get ticked off... i DON'T hold it in... i say what i gotta say... get it out... get it over with...

my brothers say that with the italian and the indian mixture... they don't know whether i will scalp them... or stuff them in the trunk of a vehicle... and then have the vehicle to disappear... lol

let's hope that i can hear something soon!

thanks guys!

*hugs*

LOL Lynne, I totally understand. I think I was feeling kinda brave that day because I spoke to my attorney and he told me what to do.

Honestly I think we are too scared of the CIS sometimes. I mean its our right as USC and taxpayers to bring our spouses/fiances here. Unless they have a legitimate reason to deny the case I don't think they can. If they do, you can appeal it. I'm sure that doesn't save time, but I don't think they turn down legitimate cases if you are too direct with them. At least that is what my attorney told me.

I do alot of Business visas at work, and when the visitors arrive at the port of entry I always instruct them to check the date on the I-94 to make sure the immigration officer has given them enough time. If they have not (which happens) they should challenge the officer right then and there and ask for the correct date stamp. At that point the immigration officer will tear up the old I-94 and reissue a new one. Its usually just an oversight on their part.

Some of the visitors we bring don't feel comfortable doing this. However I have never seen a case where the officer said no and I have been doing this a long time now.
