Well we were finally approved today after 5.5 months of waiting on our Noa2. I guess our file goes to the NVC next. So I have a few questions of those of you who have gone through CAiro.

1. Can I call/email after I get the new case number and request packet 3 and the interveiw date?

2. How long did it take you to get the medical report back after the physical?

3. Any suggestions you may have to keep our process moving smoothly?

4. Is it a good idea to include a summary and a few pieces of on going relationship evidence? (At least they have it in file if they get bored to see ???)

5. How long on average is it taking to get an interview once NVC sends the petition on?

6. Any Interview insights?

7. Im planning to be there...but will my presence be noticed and will it help??

Just some questions that came to mind. We are excited and really hoping for a short AP. That part makes me nervous.

Thanks

Took us 5 months for packet 3 and interview date, but that is way outside the norm. I did email/call alot and they kept saying they needed his address and they would send it (I gave it to them 4 times). I finally got a lawyer and my sentaor involved. So yes, be pro-active....

It took 1 month after sending packet 3 for interview date.

Lately they have picked up the pace and several visas have been issued with little to no AP, so inshalla everything will go quickly now

WOW you got approved sooo fast....what do you attribute to that? Amr is Muslim..we have an age gap, I have previous marriages..BUT we have been together 4 years, with ALL that supporting evidence. I will be there for the interview and we've met 4 times prior to that...so interview will make 5 times meeting. (I hope these meetings and 4 years HELPS us)

to many.....3....my kids are grown and gone so I dont have kids at home. He is well educated (communications engineering degree), he's never traveled out of the country and was delayed from Military (so he'll need papers from them as well to leave the country). So its not like he's uneducated, or somone that was to another high fraud area, had a military training or is running from it. None of my 3 marriages were involving a k1 or k3 to bring someone over. I cant imagine why MY past failed marriages have anything to do with fraud or why they'd need extra time. One of my notorized affidavits im sending is FROM my ex...substantiating our seperation 4 years ago and the delay in the divorce. He is writing to testify that He knows of our relationship, supports it and has talked to my SO several times throughout that time as well (weird I know, but its an odd situation).....

Faith congratualtions on your NOA2 approval !!!

The age gap is never an issue as we have an age difference as MANY of the other members here who have gone thru Cairo's embassy, and have received their visas.

The previous marriages shouldn't be either as long as you have proof of termination.

The visa interview is usually only given to the applicant. Most of the time the

petitioner can't attend the interview.

Wael's medical took about 4 days from beginning to end.

Good luck!!

You don't think that *three* previous marriages would be an issue? I don't think it would necessarily cause a denial in Cairo but it could very well cause a delay.

Just my 2 cents along with a question --- Were these 2 flags were addressed in the cover letter that was sent with the petition? If so -- she has addressed them and has received the NOA2 -- not that these issues will not be brought up at the interview BUT at least the facts were stated at the very beginning of their process....

Good Luck ... and remember your patience (I read the MENA boards - as we all do here - and I am shocked at how long the process is for people from Egypt).

I wish you and your fiance the best!

Congrats on the NOA2

I attribute our fast approval to the fact that I had to get a lawyer and my senator involved before we ever got to the interview... Didn't get the packet 3 until the approval expired and had to request an extension based on the incompentency of the embassy. I can't think of another reason. It was 8-9 months total for us, but we went through USCIS and NVC in 2 months.
