My experience at the embassy was very good. I arrived early so I had to wait outside a bit. My interview was scheduled for 10:00am yesterday but I was there by 8. A little after 9 they called all immigrant visa applicants and they sent us to the front of the line. I went through security. The procedure is the same as going through an airport. A security officer asked me to wait in a waiting area and went to check if there was space in the main room. She then returned and told me to go in after about 5mins. As soon as I got through the door another security officer send me to window (1) where I handed my appointment letter and was told to have a seat.

Half an hour later, I was called to window 2 where they asked for my I-134, job letters, pay stubs, and tax forms. She asked me whether I had been married before and whether my fiancee has any children. I was then given a form to pay the fees at the cashier. I then returned with the receipt and was told to have a seat.

I waited another half an hour and was called to window 4 where I met the CO.

He had me to provide my fingerprints (electronically) and asked me to raise my right hand to swear.

He then flipped the petition to some journal entries that Mel had included and went to the back. I heard him talking in the back and laughing, asking if the others wanted to read it. Then he came back and told me that my girlfriend has some interesting journal entries. We both had a laugh and he told me that he would be issuing the visa and that I had 6 months to enter the US afterwards. As he was returning my passport, I told him that I am able to travel back to SLU without it so he took it back. He handed me a pink piece of paper which he said to take to the DHL office in the lobby. Since I was only sending it one way it cost me 19USD. That was basically it.
