Seamans C/D 1 Visa, What effects when we marry

Can anyone shed some insight, on what COULD happen to a seamans C/D-1 transit visa once we get married and file our K-3 application? We are planning on getting married this spring and his C/D-1 visa which is for 5 years will expire in Oct 2008? anyone have any idea? also i thought there was some type of link here to chatt directly with an ins officer? any suggestions would be helpful, thank you. jackie

I doubt anything would happen to it///just continue working while the K-3 is pending.

Also consider the CR-1 visa instead of the K-3, CR-1 is an immigrant visa, it generates a green-card upon entry allowing work, the K-3 is not work authorized so needs to wait up to 90 days or more for work authorization, and K-3 has the added $1010 expense of adjusting status.

Compare K-3 and CR-1 processing times, lately they are not much different.
