WTH??? I think they are smoking crack up at USCIS Cali service center and it must be the supreme stuff... check this out:

We filed AOS Jan 29, 07 and recieved NOA1 Feb 5, 07 - lots of rigamarole later.... here's the latest inquiry from our Senator's office. We've been inquiring about once a month after the 6 month mark...:blink:

:help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

Dear N.S.

Below is the response we received from the CSC – as you will note, they are searching for the case file, which is apparently the reason for the delay in processing – just as soon as we receive additional information we will be back in touch with you promptly – in the interim, should you not hear from CSC directly nor our office within 4 weeks, please get back in touch with us. We will send a follow-up inquiry for you then.

Thank you and take care,

This is a good thing! At the very least they did not give you a canned response and they are looking into/for your file :) I don;t know if this is the same kind of situation, but about a year ago CSC filed a few apps that were never approved, etc. One person called and had them dig out their file, and a whole bunch of other people seemed to get their approvals soon afterward as well.

Give it the 4 weeks and contact them again if needed.

Thanks Laura... I'll be on their hineys four weeks and a day if we haven't heard. Thankfully, our Senator's liason is really nice and has been so helpful. Senator Landrieu def has my vote!

It's crazy...they did the same thing to us except an IO was able to tell us at our Infopass appointment that they had completely shelved our application in storage. She couldn't tell if they had made a final decision or not and we're now waiting for them to pull it back out of storage and figure out what the f*#& is going on. It's completely insane.

I hope that they're able to find your file soon and put you at the top of the list for approvals. Good luck. <3

The whole thing is a mess and loosing files is very very common. I know that from several friends on VJ (not just rumour) and I dont have that many, so the percentage is very high..

Thats why I breathed a sigh of relief when the NVC got the file and then when London got it. Also I was relieved to hear that there is record of my immigration on the 'save' system. The S Security people will tell you if there is.

They are incredibly good at getting things wrong /mis-understanding/losing files etc etc and they contradict each other between departments

If my green card actually arrives and is valid for 10 years and has my correct name on it - all those things- I will be astounded.. I will strap it to my chest with parcel tape and never bath again

They got my name wrong last time I came in on K1, and the worst thing is that if you send the card back, it goes into a black hole and there is an awful mess... never heard of anyone sending it back with an error and receiving a new one within a month

Today I called the USCIS about my change of address and where the green card would go -and they said until I had been in the country 30 days they were not allowed to look up my file -and I have only been here 29 days ....so call back another time...

Is it me or is that robotic ? is robotic a bad thing for people to be ?

It seems to be a problem in management as the people on the front line want to be helpful.. give the workers some discretion and treat them like thinking humans
