I'm planning to send in the application by weekend so probably won't request the tax transcripts, instead will send copies which I already have. Do the copies need to be Certified? According to the link http://uscis.gov/graphics/lawsregs/handboo...upprt112305.pdf they have to be certified. If I get the copies notarized, do they become certified? or do I have to request a certified copy from IRS?

looks like I won't be sending in the application by weekend...

If they're from the IRS, they're certified.

Notarization verifies identity of a signature. That would be of no use on a tax transcript.

you don't need w-2s unless you filed jointly with someone. to prove your portion of the overall income.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
