My fiance (USC) sent pictures to prove that we met each other. However, now, I found a huge problem. He sent 6 pictures. and once of the pictures has a wrong date. He put 07/10/2006. But, I returned to Japan on 07/08/2006. It does not make any sense. I guess he was remembering the night before we were together and it was 07/07/2006. but he put a wrong date. After he prepared entire packages, he got copies of my passport. I am really freaking out because USCIS might take this as dishonesty. I am asking him to call USCIS and tell them, But he kept telling me the line was busy and he said just wait RFE. Ahhhh Pls help me. What should I do?

Usually pictures are used as secondary evidence, so if everything else is in order, it really shouldn't be a big deal. You probably will not get an RFE for it. Good Luck!!

well, i used to be an international student, so I went to school and lived with him. The pictures were all taken by my degital camera and my friend's degital camera. My camera did not have date setting, so every pictures taken by my camera have no dates and he tried his best to remeber the dates. but, I guess one picture had a wrong date. I sent entire boarding passes, passport copies, letters from my school that sent to his house because I lived with him and transcripts from school. I am really worried and thinking about calling USCIS and notify the date error. but, i do not know if I should wait.

We took my pictures with a digital camera too and the dates were all wrong, so we left the dates off and just wrote them in on the back. who knows if they even looked ;)

The IO actually did verify the dates to me when I had my K-1 & AOS interviews. I explained the "error" too. My husband (fiance then) and I did okay. No worries, just as long as you honestly explain to them how it happened but only when they ask or verify. IOs err too.

I totally understand you. My degital camera's date was set up all wrong and I do not even care what date I set because all the pictures I took with him were not like memorial pictures or anytings. Just randomly we took pictures in our bedroom and in front of a computer for fun. So no makes ups, no special things. Well, hopefully USCIS won't care. He was saying that we should not call because it sounds really weird. Calling and saying oh hey, by the way, one picture has a wrong date, what should I do? well, officers will generate RFE automatically.

How did you explain the errors? Should he explain that his memory was wrong? I know that my degital camera's date was all wrong and maybe he looked at that date. I really believe that my fiance simply remembered a wrong date. So 07/08/2006 instead of 07/10/2006. That was more than a year ago, so he said he did not remeber perfectly.

I found out that the picture was totally wrong one. Ok, now, he sent me a picture file and it was taken by a cell phone and the date of September 7th 2006. Not July10th, not July 7th. I was looking at the wrong ones. Now, the back of the picture has really weak print and says 09/07/2006. Great, he totally missed this date and for the entire time he was searching the date and maybe came up with weird date 07/10/2006. Well, should I simply explain to the officer that the back of the picture which we develped from welgreen has super correct date and he completely missed this date?

Don't worry so much sunshinegirl :) If there's a problem that they feel is serious or needs an explaination, they'll send you a RFE. I wouldn't call them as you won't get to talk to the officer who reviews your case anyway and customer service probably won't do anything with the information you give them.

You sound very stressed out from this, so please relax, be patient and wait to see if they even ask about it. If they do, it'll be easy for your SO to fix.

u2rsobad,

Thank you so much for your comment. Ya, I was soo stressed out and we had a huge fight about this stupid issue. I have no idea how he missed the date that was ON the back of picture from walgreens. Well, I remember that he was not even sleeping and doing this package for entire time, so I guess he was not aware about such obvious things. Well, a lawyer told me not to even call, because once we sent a package, we cannot do anything until we get some notice from USCIS.

Well, hopefully USCIS will understand that that was a simply mistake and correct date was on the back of the picture, not his hand written date. Ahh, I hate it so much.

OMGZ gurl take a chill pill and stop fighting with your fiance over this. For your penance you must send him sexy pictures to make up for this.

If they RFE you, just explain it and move on. Im sure they will be able to find/figure out it was just a simple mistake.

ramos96, Thank you for your comment. I know I was sooo stressed out and yelled at him about this. He worked fulltime and he did his best to finish this package without sleeping. I guess he checked many times, but still there are mistakes. Well. it is really hard to make everything perfect. I do not mind getting RFE and explaining, but hopefully that USCIS will accept my explaination that it was a simple mistake. They might think that we are being dishonest and deny our petition.

I'm sure if you don't get an RFE, they might just ask you about it at the interview. I really don't think they're going to be paying attention all that much to the date stamps on the pictures. It sounds like you were pretty stressed about this. Relax. I'm sure others have had similar experiences. I don't know why this is in this section "Moving Here and Your New Life in America"?

I posted a question on the wrong section. I got e-mail from one lawyer. He said once we sent a package, there is no way we can change or fix anything until USCIS notifies us. I know it sounds weird because I have read that some folks called USCIS and notified them that they made mistakes. Other members put wrong dates and told correct dates at interviews. I just do not want USCIS to find out the issue and think that we are being dishonest. Well, ummmm I have no idea. I hope I can get some sort of answer within 2 weeks.
