The circumstances under which we met...

Are they looking for heart-rending eloquence or basic information names, dates, etc. ?

A timeline or a story is I guess what I'm asking.

Can anyone give me an example of what they wrote? We have a pretty good story, but I just want to know what the norm is.

Thanks in advance!

Just facts.

In our case it was 5 lines. Where we met, who introduced us, the date and how much time we spent together.

No need to get all sentimental and lovey-dovey ;)

They want dates and locations, which they will expect you to back up with plenty of evidence (passport stamps, boarding passes, etc).

No need for anything "lovey dovey" here. That has its place (as extra evidence with the I-129f, but mostly the K-1 interview).. But it's not needed for question 18.

Okay...Secondary question then. My boyfriend and I have known each other since 1999, but we never thought to keep things like his Greyhound tickets. It never occurred to us that we might need them for anything, unfortunately :\

He was JUST here (left yesterday) so we know to keep that bus ticket. Thats one. Only one though!

I do have plenty of phone bills however.

God. This is so concerning! Why do they expect people to keep all of this ####### around? ugh...

Well, you only have to have PROOF of meeting once (within the past two years). Just submit any evidence that you two were TOGETHER at some point. I'm assuming you have pictures together, so use those. Depending on how good your boyfriend is at record-keeping, it's also possible that he has credit card charges and stuff like that in his records, or cashed checks on old bank statements. You can also include signed statements from people who have spent time with you while you were together.

Good luck!
