My fiance kept calling manila embassy and they kept telling him that they have not received anything even though NVC said that they sen my packet on 11/20 to Manila Embassy....so they advised me to call NVC. Anyways, I called NVC and they told me to call Visa center in Washington so I did. The lady told me that packet 3 was sent to my fiance on 11/26/07. But how come manila embassy said they have not received any document from NVC? The lady said that they were giving my fiance inaccurate information.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

It is not very likely that the packet 3 was sent to the beneficiary if the petition itself was sent to Manila on the 20th. It usually takes a few days to get to the embassy but it should be there now. It may be in a backlog at the embassy, I know there has been a big influx of petitions going through Manila. According to the stats there is about a ninty day wait between the embassy receiving the petition and the actual interview.

I would still give it a few days but if it comes to a point you feel you are being given the run-around I suggest you contact your elected representative, like one of your senatrs

Good luck

did NVC give you your case number? if so Manila should have an electronic file of your petition. could be just the physical petition hasn't arrive in Manila. there is no packet 3 for Manila, so that's some misinfo from NVC. The Fiance Visa Appointmnt Packet will not be sent by the Embassy until you have been scheduled an interview date.

I would think it is there by now. My CR-1 showed being sent to the embassy on 11-30 and the appointment date is already showing on the embassy web site (they may send that info electronicly though). You might try looking for similar timelines and see if the embassy has received their paperwork yet.

UPDATE: So I got frustrated so I called the US Citizen Line in US Embassy Manila. I told her the the whole story and she told me that they DID receive the paperwork from the NVC on 11/26! whew! So, i questioned her why my fiance was given the wrong info so many times... she had no answer for me... I was just glad they have the paperwork already! It's on queue to be assigned an interview appointment.

Thanks to all for your support.

NVC also told me our petition was forwarded to USEM on 11-20. I performrd the DHL check and a 72 pound package was sent form NVC to Manila on 11-21 and arrived 11-26. I called the Embassy yesterday and the lady said our petition arrived on 11-27 and to wait a week and call back. Maybe our petitions are at the bottom of the pile for an interview date.

May I ask how you was able to talk with someone on the 301-2000 number? Meryll called that number and was told to call the PLDT number. I am guessing the difference is in how you addressed the person at the Embassy.
