Cheers all,

I will try to word this correctly as it really lifted me out of a funk that I know so many of you are going through at this time with regard to USCIS and their delays.

Having a contact at USC (Uni.of Southern Calf)she gave me some information today that made me think a littel more positive on the delay issue on our K3's and receipt delays in particular.

We started with my issue of delays in NOA1's for K3 petitions etc. She said that (and she was speaking for CSC) that they are YES BACKLOGGED. But she went on to explain the process of how they receive the applications via truck to their mailroom which is about a 40x40 cube and how those applications are then date stamped and placed onto a conveyor belt to be entered into the system. The building is shaped somewhat like a pyramid and so the mess starts at the top. Sometimes an adjusticator grabs one and processes and sometimes when backlogged they go into their appropriate filing area, i.e, I 130 I129f and so forth until they are ready to be processed for receipt.

She said that yes they are hiring 1500 more peeps, but they wont be up to speed until Jan or Feb which makes sense. She also said that we basically filed at the wrong time as we were after the deadline but in the midst of the storm per se. USCIS is funded basically out of our fees that we pay and they can only do so much, but that their CSR can only say what they THINK they know and that you probably get better service from Nordstroms with accurate information.

She said to be patient, its going to take some time for them to catch up with this mess, its sorta like a boa constrictor. Prior to July, the boa ate his normal meal of bunnies, cats, dogs and mice. However after July, the boa got hungry and ate a cow. Well he got clogged and that is what happened to our system, but most of you have figuered this out by now. So its going to take a few months to unclog the system but in the long run, be patient, and be aware that the thrust of USCIS is security, they are of the mindset that 80% of applications are false and that bonafide marriages need to be proven with co mingling of assets. These are not my words, they are hers and she teaches there along with some other professors from other colleges that have an interest in what is going on. Do not fault me for saying this, I am just trying to show their is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The good thing and yes we are aware of this also is that they will continue to honor the receipt date of application. YEAH!!! For things being processed out of order, it was the luck of the draw per se and nothing we can do about this. Also without a receipt number Congressman Senator etc cant have much help besides sending an inquiry as to what is going on.

I did get back my trace email today from CSC - lol - they said no you are not in the sytem, please give us your receipt number and we can go forth - ohhhhh - I thought that was the whole jest of the converstation that I did not have one. Im learning here, but the one good thing that the professor said was keep the email and when u do get your receipt number, call them out on it. Should be funny to see.

So please all, I know that I rant and rave here alot more than most, but I will be good for awhile and hope that mid December or early January sees a boost in both service centers catching up.

Cheers and yes there was more to the conversation, but thought this was somewhat upbeat. Just remember to have proof of your marriage being real, for this is their main concern Some people will go through this effort without much being aksed for, but I guess to be prepared than to be caught by surprise/

Cheers all and Patience is a Virtue, darn i hate that one :innocent:

More than welcome and even thou the conversation went on for a half hour or so and she was great actually beyond great, I sorta just put the jest of the communication here. I know that most of us are aware of these issues, but it made sense to me about where my applications could be and such.

Hope it helps a few that did not.

Cheers and gl to all that are waiting for their real journey to begin,,,,, that being with their loved ones.

Thanks for giving us this info. The shared assets is a little difficult to prove when you live on the other side of the ocean from someone. I seriously hope they take that into consideration.

Divine,

You are correct. I spoke with my husband ( yes hes in the UK im here and thats the story hun) today saying ok i cant put u on this cause ya need a social security number and such but we have joint bank accounts, credit cards both names, lease in both names etc./ Pics, letters emails, and such. They have to realize this but the bank account and lease seemed to be a strong point with the professor as it has been mentioned in many threads prior to this.

Cheers hun and hang on for this ride...
