Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I have an administrative, project management, IT, leadership and sales background with a proven track record and finding a new job is still a frightening and painful process. Even when I convince myself it is time to go and I need more responsibility and financial reward performing a job search for bigger and better is rough.

Being in a field such as mining, machine operator, or something 'blue collar,' and highly specialized must be 10x worse because it is harder to find a fit and those sorts of jobs keep disappearing in the US.

That sucks, Dean. Take it easy on that drink.

Out of curiosity: What do you tell a guy that's losing his mining job after he's done that and nothing but for the last 20 years?

especially 3 weeks before Christmas?

yikes!

I echo what everyone else said .. take care of yourself. You are doing a great service for these workers; they need what you provide to help deal with this huge loss.

A major employer in a town nearby here is shutting down for good by the 1st of the year. These workers are blue collar, have done this all their lives and there are not a lot of resources in this area. I anticipate my caseload is going to increase pretty soon ... and it SUCKS ... it is so hard seeing honest, hardworking people having their entire lives change unexpectedly (the news of the closing was recent and a huge surprise to the workers).

really nothing...just listen and offer support..sadly, all my family were miners except me and my dad...and in the end all lost their jobs when the mines shut down in southern Illinois..so i took this one personal..in the end, i know allot more than i can write in confidence...but the mine was not losing $$...
