Byron I understand you are freaking out at times prior to the interview but how freaked out would you be 3 days prior to the interview trying to print out some stuff from your computer and the printer stopped communicating with your machine? That´s exactly what´s happening here right now! I dont know if to laugh or get angry lol...trying to fix it ...

From what I've read, if your tax return exceeds the 125% poverty line then you don't really need to provide a bank statement showing when you opened the account and the sum amount deposited for the past 12 months.

Yes, that's right. I asked my attorney (previous case), but you can ask the Bank make 1 for you incase (you will never know). Make sure in letterhead. btw, can you speak a little bit Viets? because they may interview you (I read somewhere on VJ).

Good luck with a pink slip.!

Hi MR2nice and all:

What is the minimum income RE poverty guidelines? And if one does not have enough income or has no job due to layoff, what amount of $ do you have to have in savings to meet the requirements? Do you have to have 5 times more than the min. amount required? For ex: they required 20k, do you have to have 100k in savings? I also heard you can claim your house if it's been paid off :) is true or not?

Also do I have to send back letters to my fiancee for her to go to the interview? These letters were sent to me from her? And I've sent her a lot of hand-written letters, but not sure if I should send those letters back to her?

Thanks Mr2nice, you're a really nice person, and thanks all for supporting :)

Hello Visao,

The minimum income for 125% poverty guideline for 2 people are $17, 113:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1327.html

I think if you are well above the 125% guideline then you don't really need to provide other items like assets, bank statement, savings, etc. If you barely made the 125% guideline then they may ask for more.

As for letters, yes you will need to send them back to your fiancee so she can bring them to the interview.

What i am doing is this:

I took phone statements and highlighted the access number for the calling card every time i dialed it ( both house phone and cell phone )

Then i glued six phone cards on each bill with the access number showing. I have over 60 pages with countless highlights of the number being dialed ..i have hundreds of calling cards.

Of course this along with other evidence.

Do not waste time to think it is okay or not. Just print it out and attach to your petition.

Phone logs could be printed on printer and could be forged by any ways. If you include, it will be a plus. But phone logs are not that important.

So, it is not a important proof of your marriage. Try to concentrate on more important proof such as marriage license, joint financial statement, joint insurance, etc.

Hi Haonie. Yes, I'm Vietnamese. I can speak, read, and write. I left Vietnam when I was 7.

Hi MR2nice,

If you are the Vietnamese and you was introduced to your fiance by relatives, you should be careful. What was the evidence for the very first time you talk to each other?? Email or phone?? How did you say in your petition??

The evidence will be checked depending on each case. It depends on how you know each other. How long your relationship was. How good in English your fiance is.

If you are Vietnamese, she can speak Vietnamese in the interview. The interpreter will translate for her.

About the evidence, she must bring all evidence you could have, the phone records and the explanation letter as well. She has to read that letter and understand it before the interview.

Good luck to you.

Hien

Hi David-Hien,

I wrote an explanation of how I met my fiancee in a letter that was sent along with the I-129F. The evidence of first time contact was from a phone card. After that it was email exchanges, all written in Vietnamese. Then the rest switched back to phone cards and that has been most of our communications ever since. That was the main reason why I posted this topic because everything prior to 08/2006 I do not exactly have credible evidences when it comes to phone logs because they were all from phone cards which I bought from stores and online. There's no way to proof that I called her. The only thing I have are all the receipts for the ones I bought online.

I've known my fiancee for 3 years now. I didn't want to rush into things so I spent the first 1.5 years to get to know her. In 08/2006 when I felt that we're in love and want to spend our life together I applied for my US Citizenship. Just this past April, 2007 I swore in at the Oath Ceremony and got my Certificate for Naturalization. Thus, I sent in the I-129 in May.

She doesn't know much English so I'm sure the interview will be conducted in Vietnamese and from what I've read on here is a negative thing since she'll be at the mercy of the translator.

Thanks for the advice and I'll make sure she'll bring all the necessary evidences to the interview.
