I heard about this on the radio. These are feral cats. I wouldn't advocate shooting them without a permit, but if people can get permits to shoot other wild animals, then for the sake of population control and protection of other species, I'd support it.

I'd rather shoot some dogs.

Trophy Fees do not include taxidermy or the freight costs of your completed trophies to your home. A quotation of this cost will be provided at the conclusion of your safari and depends on the number of trophies, their weight and size and whether being transported by air or sea.

Wild Boar: $300

Kangaroo (under permit): $190

Wallaby (under permit): $150

Red Fox: $150

Feral Cat: $100

Great article. Had to look up EXTIRPATE. I'm a cat lover so I want to defend the cats. But there is definately a problem and it needs to be dealt with. I have no idea what the answer to this issue is. Cats have been around for a long time and yet we still have birds. ???

Like Steve says, if they make it legal then I guess folks will try to get permits. It scares me to think that big cities would probably have a bigger problem with feral cats and that maybe hunting them with guns might not be such a good thing. We have an aggressive catch, cut & release program here trying to quell the population growth of feral cats. It is expensive and difficult but it does work in the long run.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

I don't think I could shoot a feral cat myself, but to each his own.

i've done it before. feral cats are hail on quail populations. once fluffy goes wild what reasoning keeps them alive when they are destroying wildlife?

I agree, but I'd try looking for controlling their populations in the most humane manner possible.

Taking pot shots as pussies is incredibly humane in terms of population control. Hunting is after all the natural solution.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I'm pretty much capable of killing mosquitoes and flies. That's about the extent of my willingness to limit certain species on this planet.

I can't read that article because the subject is kinda painful for me. But killing feral cats is kind of stupid because there are already more feral cats born than can survive. If you kill a bunch of them, more will just take their place. That's nature. That's why TNR -- Trap-Neuter-Return -- is the best policy. Trap the cat, neuter it, return it to its colony. People really shouldn't make policy without considering that.

That's what we also do here, my father sometimes load only air guns with no bullet letting the target see him aiming at him.
