My fiancee has received the Packet 3 in the mail, and after reviewing the enclosed instructions vs the instructions on the embassy web page vs the instructions on this webpage, we're a little confused.

We can't figure out exactly what needs to be sent back and what needs to be to be brought.

Should all the DS forms be sent in together or should the DS-230 be sent in as soon as possible, with the DS-156, 156K, and 157 being sent in as soon as you have the documents associated with those forms? Are you to send in the DS-156, 156K, and 157 and bring copies with you for the interview?

If someone could fill out the format below, that would be uber helpful:

Sent in Right Away

A.

B.

C.

Sent in Later

A.

B.

C.

Take to interview

A.

B.

C.

it's been awhile for us, but i remember returning ds 230 part 1 immediately.

at a later date (when we had finished or almost finished) gathering the packet 3 checklist info; we sent the completed checklist to the embassy.

they will then schedule your interview.

you take all of the packet 3 info with you to the interview.

i think that's a good summary, but i might have left something out .....

good luck

The instructions for what should be sent in the mail or taken to the interview differs from Embassy to Embassy. You could try posting in the Regional discussion forum to get a really accurate answer.
