I already started a topic about this in the IR1 forum but wanted to put a quick note in here.

Just for all of you that have all of your DS-230 forms and documents ready to drop in the mail - Dave mentioned in another thread that NVC is now requiring that you send a photocopy of each document as well:

Document Requirements

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

Very good idea, if you want a better chance of one day getting back your originals! Glad to hear they updated the instructions to say that.

I already had a copy attached to the translations when I submitted them, sure hope that will be just as good for getting back originals.

It is in the Instruction portion of the DS-230. The one you download off the web Site

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html Read through it and it will state this on the instruction portion. Download the instruction link Download the above NVC Appointment Processing immigrant visa instructions ( PDF)

I just sent in DS-230 CR1/CR2 and in IV instructions and did not need to send in any of this. Maybe cause it is CR case. Also case complete on both 12/5-12/6
