a 1st class chopf##k..maybe he wash it down with a fine glass of katie's urine

If it's as effective as the South Beach diet I bet you'd see placenta in a can pretty quickly. How many points is placenta? This month's new flavor - Placenta de Indian.....spicy and tastes like curry! Subway - eat fresh....I mean like really f'ng fresh!

Lunch time :)

oh my god! this is gross..

Shon,

so judgemental you lot are!! *tsktsk*

in many different cultures the placenta is extremely important ... china, vietnam, nigeria, ghana, even france. amazingly enough, placenta extract can be found in some facial creams sold in france ... this is due to the fact that the placenta is so high in protein. some cultures in nigeria and ghana bury it will full rites with the feeling that this is the baby's twin. sometimes in china the parents will make the placenta into capsules and present it to the child when they move away from home, it is also used in some traditional chinese medicines.

there are so many benefits to eating the placenta ... for the mother that is!! it has pretty much the same texture as beef and i can almost bet that most of you would never be able to tell the difference! it's rich in minerals and vitamins, particularly B6, which can help to fight postpartum depression. it also contains high levels of prostaglandin which stimulates involution of the uterus, in effect cleaning the uterus out ... which really helps the mom after delievery. the placenta also contains small amounts of oxytocin which eases birth stress and causes the smooth muscles around the mammary cells to contract and eject milk ... this is great for moms who want to breastfeed. why do you think most animals eat the placenta once their young is born??

instead of immediately following the mainstream and turning your noses down ... do a bit of research. it's another great gift that the human body provides for us!

Gimy, I know the "nutritional value" angle and yay, so it's common in some cultures...well good for them. It's not common in most western cultures and I can still think it's gross. There are A LOT of things about cutlures across the board that I wouldn't want to do myself. If they want to do it...errr, ok, but ew, not for me.

Some cultures treat roaches as a delicacy...doesn't mean I can appreciate WHY or HOW they do it...nor would I do it.

Anyway Tom Cruise isn't from any of those places...isn't he from Ohio or somewhere...

According to Wikipedia...

Ancestry and early life

Cruise was born to Thomas Mapother III and Mary Lee Pfeiffer in Syracuse, New York.[2][3]. Cruise has German ancestry from his paternal great-grandparents, William Reibert and Charlotta Louise Voelker.[4] His maternal ancestry is half Irish and half German (including Alsatian French). [5] Cruise had a transient existence as a child with his family residing throughout various locations in the United States and Canada. Cities where he lived included Ottawa, Louisville, Glen Ridge, New Jersey (where he graduated from Glen Ridge High School) and Wayne, New Jersey. In all, Cruise attended eight elementary schools and three high schools. He briefly attended a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati and aspired to become a Catholic priest.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
