If you want to find out whether the US Embassy in Zambia received your case or not, you need to call the Embassy or go to the DHL website and search the packages using the reference number from NVC.

This what I did, I called the NVC and they told today that the case has been sent to Johannesburg, South Africa on Friday. I went to DHL website and I track the package by reference as follows: "EXP 29 NOV 2007A" and press "Track" button, they gave three full web pages that have all information that I needed. I click on the package that going to South Africa. I called the Consulate in South Africa, and they told me that the package is there.

Thanks, but when I talked to NVC they only gave me our new case number and they didn't give me any tracking number. I asked them for that, but they said they don't have that info. So, I'm not sure what number I need.

If you go to the DHL website and mess around with the dates you can find the shipment that was sent to Zambia. If you do as Omizo_Tusha said, you don't need the tracking number, all you need is a date range when NVC sent your petition. Just look for packages that went to Zambia and you should be able to find it. It shouldn't take more than a week though.

I'm back! :)

I got a letter from NVC today that gave me the case number and told me that the case was being sent to USEM in Ghana.:content::star:

Can you give me a hint of how you came up with a reference? This is what I tried from OmizoTusha's post, EXP 2 DEC 2007A. But they didn't get anything. Maybe it wasn't sent yet or maybe I need to determine another reference. My file was approved on a Sunday, maybe I should use Monday's date? What do ya'll think?

Do you know if it has left NVC yet? If not you are not going to get anything. Also, fool around with the dates, it is possible that they only pick up packages on specific days so even if you are told it was sent Dec 5 for example, it may have been received by DHL a couple of days before or after. I was told by NVC that mine was sent on Sept 11 but when I checked the website it was actullay Sept 12.
