I'm not sure I could make it through a 24 hour flight. Geez........

I like to take books as opposed to magazines. If I get into a really good story, the time seems to fly faster. I take my iPod everywhere. A portable DVD player can be a Godsend. My son has that PSP.....I love that it plays movies!!!!! And then, lots of sleeping.

Good luck on your journey.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

The direct flight to Ghana is only 10 hours so I don't have that long. I usually take magazines, books and music. But on my last trip I watched all three movies that they show on the plane. I don't go out to movies much, so it was great for me cause they were all brand new. I watched those back to back and ate and then when I got to Ghana I was exhausted and had to sleep for a few hours before I could be up and at it. It was 5am there when we landed but with the time difference it was really the middle of the night. Most people slept on the plane, which I think is good for jet lag. But I want to see death coming at me, I don't want to wake up in heaven.

Pop some sleeping pills and go to sleep! Ask your neighbor to wake you up when its time to eat. But yeah...they should provide enough movies, sitcoms, and other shows for you to watch, in case you can't bring your own entertainment.

I flew to Nigeria with my 9 year old son. The flight was 6 hours to lundon then 6 hours to nigeria. 5 hours in lundon. WE had 5 movies to chose from and several tv station and news. I enjoyed looking atthe screen that tells you where you are flying over, how fast the plain was going, how manymore minutes till we arrived, the weather, it was interesting to me. My son was wonderful. He had coloring, books, magazines, and he had to do some jouranling for school.

The longest part was the last flight home.

Have a safe and pleasant trip.

I HATE the flight home. I HATE the drive to the airport to return to the US at 1 in the morning. I HATE the flight. I HATE getting home again without Bassi. I don't like the way it makes me feel...like I have two lives....one here and one there.

My first 3 trips drove me crazy. I watched movies and listened to music. I opted for the long layovers because I figured if I'm going to spend that much money I ought to see europe at least a little bit. I did venture out into Paris, got lost, had no money and was freezing cold and french people laughed at me because I couldn't speak french. London was nice .. holland too. The last trip I had my baby with me so I spent the whole direct 11 hour flight trying to keep him from screaming or losing his mind. While trying to juggle the food and diapers and bottles. That kept me very busy.

The flight home is the most painful experience. The agony that wells up inside me, choking me to death as I walk to the gate is not something I wish to re-live. You really are ripping out half of your heart and leaving it behind.

For the flight over, it's only like 10 hours to Accra, so it wasn't bad and I slept most of the time. I took my portable CD player and that helped.

Yeah, the flight home REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!! I HATED IT!!!!!!!! I felt like I had left my heart in Africa. At least my mom was smart and brought a BIG box of Kleenex for me 'cause I really needed it
