Hey,

after waiting umpteen years (or so it feels like), they issued a case # for the ir-1.

our k3 still hasnt been received yet at nvc.

ok so here are my questions: (i wasnt clear thru the guides or reading other posts)

1. do i have to wait for them to send me a package?

2. once my husband sends me the self generated ds 3032, can i just mail it to them? OR do i have to wait for their package and stick a barcode sticker on there?

3. can i be the agent?

4. if i become the agent, can he also mail me the ds 230, so that i can mail it to them real quick?

5. is there anything else in the ds 230 package that my husband would have to sign?

and lastly, we can use 2005 tax return right?

Have a read of the NVC timesavers link in my signature. As for the DS-3032, you can email them your choice of agent. Again, info regarding this is in the timesavers link.

Yes you can use 2005 tax return.

2 and 3. Have your husband email the NVC. He can request NVC to make you (the petitioner) the choice of agent. Your husband should give his case #, date of birth, your name, address, etc. Your husband should also mention that all future mailings from NVC should be sent to you, his choice of agent. It will take care of DS-3032 and will save time as well. Yes, you can be the agent. Please read the Aussiewenceh's time saver's link under her signature.

4 and 5. Yes, you can have him mail the DS230 part I. Yes, he needs to sign and date at the desginated areas of DS 230 part I. It will save some time for you.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
