I was wondering if they change the online status at USCIS page when they send out the RFE.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Yes, they usually update your case if they sent you RFE. You will also receive an email informing you about it..

Something I learn yesterday upon calling their 800 number (1-800-) regarding RFE such that the customer rep. told me how RFE is fairly normal. As a matter of fact, the RFE might request the same materials you've already sent in because the application package might have switch hands to various people, and at times evidence items might get loss. So there you go, your hard earn tax dollar working at its best

In our case, we failed to include the Form 1099 for my husband's Income Tax Return. And though we already sent them the recent Income Tax Return, they still included that in the RFE.

No! Some times it does not show that a RFE has been sent to you and no email notification. Don't trust that. Don't call the 800 number. They have no idea of anything other than general information.

I filled I-751 at VSC on Nov 15th 2006. Got NOA Dec 1st 2006 and fingerprinted Jan 2nd 2007. Waiting....waiting....waiting... Starting from June 2007 I repeatedly and until Nov 5th 2007 checked the website and called 800 number to find out that nothing new had come and the case was pending normally.

Guess what; on Nov 5th 2007 I got a DENIAL letter stating I didn't reply to RFE they had sent me in June 2007.

Guess what more; the receipt number on the denial did not match the receipt number on my first NOA, the number I checked online all the Time. And guess a little bit more. The state abbreviation for Delaware was printed NJ.

I went to INS office and a very nice lady told me that all those “small” mistakes happen. The letter is received by zip code. The receipt number doesn’t have to be same.

I should file a new I-751.

After filling a New I-751 on Nov 13th 2007 I got a new NOA Nov 20th 2007. As me and my wife have purchased tickets for the Christmas holidays to Europe our dreams for traveling were shattered. I went to INS office again with the new NOA and the same very nice lady stamped my passport, extending I-551 for additional 1 year and stated that I can work.

But she did point to me: NO TRAVELLING!!!

Now I am waiting for FP notice.

On Nov 29th 2007 I also filled I-290B...Motion to reopen. Because I never received any RFE. I'm now waiting.....waiting....

KAKA

mooninlove... I am in a situation that you were in... I got an RFE asking me for more financial info(I already sent everything I have), info about any counseling, and a statement about the relationship and why it didn't work out... How long was your statement?

Since when did the USCIS become IRS experts, not even the IRS can keep track of their 1025 different forms. And if the IRS requires a certain kind of 1099, yes there are a bunch of different types, it's only about 3 or 4 types you have to include in with your tax returns. Tried e-filing for the first time this year using IRS software, had me type in the SS number and identification number of the source of the W-2's and 1099's, couldn't find them so had to manually type those in. Thought that was weird. Did have a tax audit about 15 years ago, that was the time when the IRS blew 27 billion bucks on a new computer system that didn't work, so called me in to verify my tax return. What's suppose to happen, using your ID, all the sources of those W-2's and 1099's are suppose to go in your database giving them a number, and that number better match what you have on your return. It's one big game.

As mean and nasty as my wife's IO was to her, she was quite happy to see that IRS label with both our names on it with our joint returns. Not only on the federal but on our state income taxes as well, they didn't ask for the latter, but if they want evidence, I got evidence. Included four years of returns, but she only kept the last three. Even threw in some utility bills, even though not asked for, a friend of my wife got stuck with that even though I feel a utility bill is not a form of good evidence. Hell, I can tell tham Laura Bush is my wife, heaven forbid and they will put her name on my bill. But I feel that my wife's friend main problem is that she was married and divorce a couple of times, not to a USC but to a couple of jerks in her home country. But does give reason for suspicion.

Her IO did keep my original copies of our tax returns, that teed me off when she had identical copies in her stack, but her IO was too lazy to look them up. But please my wife didn't leave her with our original copies of our divorce papers, wife said no to that, IO said okay, those would cost us a small fortune to replace.

Just hard for me to believe they want copies of your 1099's, maybe they didn't like the way you parted your hair, who really knows the real reason.
