I am so un-American

So here I am just finished doing a job that Americans won't do. I painted the LR, DR and hallway this weekend. The guest bedroom I did earlier this year before my parents came to visit. I did Naomi's room last weekend, will do the kitchen next weekend and the MBR the weekend after. All that's left then will be the fourth BR and the bathrooms. Not sure when I'll get around to those. I just want all the other areas done before Nani and Naomi come back home. I think this will be a nice surprise. Plus, there's no better time doing it than now where the baby ain't around. I slaved the better part of 10 hours each day this weekend. How un-American of me... :P

I love weekends because it gives me a chance to catch up on all the things I can't do during the week. Only lately that just means grading non-stop.

Good for you. I think I'll go take a nap now :)

oh please, be happy you didn't have to do wallpaper too :P

and glad to see you doing the work yourself instead of contributing to the pockets of illegals

No wallpaper for me. Hell no. The hanging part isn't all that bad but once you get tired of it and want it down, that's where the trouble usually starts. I've done that before and I am healed for the rest of my days. I've never hired anyone doing my painting - always been a DIY'er on that front. It's a welcome change of pace from sitting in the office all week long...

UGH! We close this month on an older house and we want to paint inside and recarpet before we move in and replace the front door and all the locks and... then the real fun begins, landscaping and exterior painting AND roofing (needs a new reflective coating), eventually remodeling the master bath room! UGH!

I cannot wait to get started but I know once we get started I will not be able to wait until it is finished!

Marc

edit: added info about the roofing needs.

I'm putting illegals out of work over here, too. Painted my bedroom myself 2 weeks ago. Next, I'll prime and paint the basement walls, and lay tile when that's dry. I go out of my way to be un-American, so shoot me.
