Denied Entry and Theft Reprimand

Hi Everyone

I am so stressed out about this visa buisness. I am filling I130, and so far completing my ds230. So soon the case will be complete. However the reason I am so worried, is due to some past mistakes.

I was arrested at 17 years old for shoplifting, and the arrest was dealt by means of a reprimand. Which basically means they didnt have time to take me to the station, and didnt believe the offence was serious enough. They told me that I would need to attend a couple of youth offending meetings, and that would be all. All this happend around, 3 and a half years ago.

A year later I got the travel bug, and decided to visit new york, and travelled on the visa waiver programme.

In 2006, I travelled to USA to meet a guy I spoke with online, and we got married, on my second trip. On my 3rd trip I was denied entry, as I couldnt provide strong ties to UK,,,ie, no job etc. They asked me if I had been arrested, and I said no. As back then I didnt believe I had been arrested, aswas never taken into custody, the whole thing seemed very informal.

Now im real worried, as when I got back my police record, It has the rreprimand on it. So im sure the embassy will think ive lied to an officer..but really i wasnt aware i had been arrested. I guess it comes down to being nieve and travelling to young.

What i would like to know is has anyone been denied entry, and not admitted there record? or been in a similar situation?? Has anyone been accepted to the usa, with a theft caution within the last few years any advice would be helpful .Many Thanks xxx

This will not answer your question, but might give you a little hope. In the US your record is cleaned again at 18. So knowing that you are a miner, they will consider that. If you are denied at first, with a lawyer you can get around it. Although, some visa lawyers will not take your case after you already been denied without a significant cost. If you geta lawyer first, his fee will cover everything until the end.

well of course you would want to verify the information I gave you regarding lawyer if you consider.

Good luck! I would think you woul be ok.
