No touches or anything since early February. Hubby has the EAD, thank goodness, but with no driver's license it would be very difficult for him to work so we haven't really been looking much.

Has anyone filed taxes? I discovered something that I did not realize before. We don't qualify for the EIC if our spouse is not a permanent resident. That sucks.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!

We just filed our Federal and State tax returns jointly last Monday. We also had a doubt for how to file tax during the AOS for a long time??

At last, we found an accountant to file for us. We can't make it by ourselves (online) this year cause I didn't get a SSN, the system will reject me due to this reason. Also we thought we need to attach with ITIN/W-7 form, but we didn't (it has to wait up to 6 weeks), the accountant just put "Applied For" in the column where my SSN is supposed to be filled in. People reminded me that I will have to file "an amended" tax return to IRS once I get your SSN.

Hope it helps. Good Luck!!

Have any December filers had an interview and had their GC approved *at the interview.* My wife and I interviewed in New York last week; the DAO said that everything was ok, but namecheck was pending, and we would have to wait for the namecheck to clear. Not counting folks who got their GCs without an interview, I am trying to figure out how many December files actually saw their namechecks progress fast enough to get approved/cleared by their interview dates (mid-March)? Thanks!

Honeysweets, earmuffs, vivi and bmadeline - thanks for your replies - my AP and EAD turned up pretty quickly - almost around the time I got my interview letter - mid-Feb. I guess that made me (falsely) hopeful that the name check would also move along quickly. oh well. I will post when I hear something.

We mailed our application 12/29 so not sure - that may make us a jan filer? In any case - to answer your question:

We had our AOS interview an hour ago. We were told on the spot that her name checks were complete. Both her maiden and married name. They asked a few questions to verify facts and then told us she is approved. They took her I-94 out of her passport, took the EAD work card, and told her the green card will be in our mailbox within two weeks.

No problems at all.

So... Approved BTW!

We filed on Dec 17 and got approved on March 10. That would be 81 days for both the I-130 and I-485. Not too bad...

To all how haven't yet received their approval: patience is a virtue... the wheels of the USCIS monster can turn slow, but at least they keep turning...

Cheers,

Niels

But I'm worried...as I see most ppl's timeframe, if the case is transffered to CSC, it seems that it usually will get approved 2 months later!! So applies to my case, then mine will be approved in May??? :wow: (Just my assumption)
