Hey guys, how long did it take to get the SSN? I applied yesterday and they said they need to check first my immigration status in USCIS. IS this the normal process? Is the EAD card not enough evidence?

I-751 timeline

3/05/10 - mailed I-751 packet

3/12/10 - arrived at CSC

3/16/10 - online status, NOA mailed but no mail received

3/18/10 - Check cashed

4/15/10 - biometric appointment (notice recv'd in mail - 4/01/10)

4/16/10 - touched

4/18/10 - I-485 & EAD touched????

5/03/10 - Card production ordered

5/11/10 - letter of Approval received in the mail

5/26/10 - email received "letter of Approval" sent in the mail... not yet received till now 6/8/10

7/07/10 - called USCIS why green card has not received yet

7/09/10 - email from USCIS stating that they already sent the GC on May 25th and undeliverable,

adviced to apply for I-90 as it might have been lost in mail

7/25/10 - mailed application for I-90 (replacement of lost or stolen card)

9/16/10 - biometric appointment

9/20/10 - touched

9/21/10 - touched

Hey guys, how long did it take to get the SSN? I applied yesterday and they said they need to check first my immigration status in USCIS. IS this the normal process? Is the EAD card not enough evidence?

I was a K1 who married so slightly different, but we went in about 2 weeks after the wedding ( 3-4 after entry) and I was told that day that it would 7-10 days in the mail. Got it a week later. Mine is valid for work with an accompanying EAD of course.

02/22/11 - Filed

02/28/11 - NOA

03/28/11 - FP

06/17/11 - status change - scheduled for interview

06/20?/11 - received physical interview letter

07/13/11 - Interview in Fairfax,VA - easiest 10 minutes of my life

07/19/11 - Oath ceremony in Fairfax, VA

12/2/09 - NOA's for self and daughter

01/12/10 - Biometrics completed

got mine 5 days after entering.. had the card a few days later..

married a month or so later.

I am waiting for my SSN too . We applied last friday and the woman told me to wait 10-14 days for the verification from USCIS even i gave them my GC.

thanks guys, just wondering why SSN takes that long before verification although we already have the EAD card. Im so anxious also t apply for driver lisence and EAD card really is the passes for all of these lisences... whew B) :jest::rolleyes: Thanks for the replies.

i applied today and the women in the SSA said i should expect it within 10days.. can't wait to get it so i can apply for my driver's license and get a job :)

Today out of nowhere some more progress, I received the notice of action for the interview for AOS here in Milwaukee it´s not until March 27th though. :thumbs:

They are working on my case!!! no updates on the website though and no EAD on sight... maybe one of these days will just knock on my door!

Good luck to everyone and congrats on all the AP and EAD notifications!

The way the economy is behaving, they should just give the EAD to everyone, we sure want to contribute to this country!

FINALLY --- I woke up to a CRIS email in my inbox regarding my hubby...

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On February 1, 2008, we ordered production of your new card.

It seems as if we are on track with others that filed around the time we did. I was a little worried as we received our interview date a couple weeks ago without receiving the EAD -- but it's all good now!!

More good news... We received an email regarding the AP...

OK - the AP was touched again today -- What's going on now? I was considering this part just about completed as I received an email saying it was approved and the notice was sent.

OK AGAIN!!!!! I received a 2nd email from CRIS stating the EAD Card production was ordered with a new date -- the first email said card production requested on 2/1/08 -- now today it says 2/6/08 .... JUST SEND THE CARD!!!!!!!!!

Well, we got notices for an interview on May 1st, for both my wife and step-daughter. Our due date is May 17th, though, so I hope we don't have to reschedule.

Will it still be possible to get the AP and EAD before the interview, or because we have a pending interview, does that hold off the rest of the processing?

I got my EAD card yesterday! Im so happy i will start working on 12th... :thumbs:

from what i've read in this forum, it is necessary to renew the EAD card after it expires. I could be wrong though

NO you dont need to renew your EAD if you already have greencard.

REMOVAL OF CONDITION
