December AOS filers

Just sent our package out (finally) on Friday, so I guess that makes me a December filer. Sent it priority with tracking, so now I can check every day on the usps website. Then I can wait more anxious days for them to cash our check so I can get the receipt number. Then I can bite my nails some more as I check the uscis website ten times a day for activity. Oh joy, oh joy, I can't wait.

One thing I can't complain about is that at least my love is here with me while we wait this time.

HOpefully, we can be added to December EAD/AOS filers. We sent it in first week of Dec, got it returned saying check wasn't right. But nobody (talked to 5 different people) could find anything wrong with the check. One woman advised us to write two checks for AOS, so we did that, they received it Friday, Dec. 7. We will find out next week, I guess, if they send it back again.

By the way, I want a job at USCIS. Don't have to answer the phones, nobody can complain---lol.

PS--So because of their screwups, SO FAR is has cost us almost 40.00 to send that damned thing twice!!! Debbie

Are you filing for a k-2 child as well? Because otherwise, I don't understand why you would send two checks.

Okay, so I received three NOA1s in the mail today. Yay! Interestingly, none of the receipt numbers on the notices match the receipt number on the back of the check. Hmm, let me dash over to USCIS right now to check status!

Hi - we received our NOA's today as well (mailed overnight 12/3 to Chicago - Receipt date is 12/4/07 - notice date 12/7/07) ... and the case numbers are not showing up in the USCIS online case status check system.... our check has not cashed as of yet so I can not compare the case numbers on the receipts to what is on the back of the check ...... so for now it is all a mystery...

Is anything with this process ever just simple??

None of the three receipt numbers are showing up in their system. So now I have a total of four receipt numbers that are not in the USCIS system. Darn. I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference, it's not like the case status system is always accurate, anyway. Still it'd be nice to be able to check it 10 or 20 times a day for updates.

Oh, and to answer your question, no.

Yep...the case numbers are not entered in the online system for us either! We just got 3 NOA1's (AOS/EAD/AP) and I've tried all three, but none are being recognized. Ugh! But they've cashed the check...and sent our NOA's, I'm thankful for that.

Yeah, it seems that cases are taking a while to be entered into their computer system. And the receipt numbers you receive with your NOA1s will likely be different from the one on the check, anyone. I don't know if you would be able to look up your case with that number anyway.

Does anyone know if the receipt number on the check is attached to the case on the status page? Or was before the (recent) backlog?

Good Luck! I'm in Louisiana too and only sent my AOS off last friday....so nice to have someone to compare with.

My friend also december filer she recieved her NOA1 and we tried to check the case online it shows there case and the case number is also the same on her cheque that they cashed. So i am wondering why i cant check my status online, maybe they have lots of backlog they cashed only the cheque but they never look up on the application...So disgusting!

Okay, I thought it would be better to use a money order but now the post office says we can't check the status of the money order for 30 days after it was sent. Did anyone else have this problem? I read so many comments from people saying to do a money order so you can track it, but I can't track it for a month. Do I just have to wait for the paper NOA, or do you all think we could call and get any resonse? Grrr.....

Got our NOA1s for AOS and EOD...the numbers don't match the one on the back of the check for us either. I haven't had a chance to try them in CRIS yet, but my guess is they won't work for a while like the rest of folks here.
