well, just got a CRIS email that our case was transferred to the local office :( $@#$@#$!!!!! Oh well, really sucks, dc office s notoriously slow on green cards :( have friends that waited a year :( What a bummer wonder why the tease to CSC then back to local office, I wonder if it was because the biometrics appointment had not occurred yet...ohwell......

Well i'm a dummy, that notice was just saying CSC received the case, boy do I feel dumb.

Huh? You're confusing me....did you get an e-mail notice first that you were transfered to CSC, and now you got a notice that CSC received your case, which you thought was a tranfer back to local office e-mail? What's the wording of the e-mail?

-P

From

This is the email I got to tell me that my case had been received and is now pending in California.

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

Ok, now I'm completely confused.:wacko::wacko: Where from this e-mail do you get that your case is transferred to California Service Center (CSC)? See what I've bolded? This is the exact same e-mail I got...and from this I understood that they transferred my case back to the local office. Did I misunderstand the e-mail???

The wording of the e-mail is different from the paper notification of transfer, which I also have, which clearly states that its a "Transfer Notice" and that:

...in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing:

California Service Center, 2nd Flr, 24000 Avila Road, Laguna Nigel, CA...

So is my case still at CSC and I've been worrying for no reason? Someone please put my mind at ease and explain.:unsure:

I'm almost positive it just means our cases were recieved at CSC

Yeah...the more I read the e-mail, and the paper Transfer Notice I have, the more I'm agreeing with you. I don't know what kind of brain fart posessed me to misinterpret the e-mail, I guess because it came after I received the paper notice, I just thought....nevermind. I was wrong, but in this case it feels good to be wrong! :)

We just had our biometrics yesterday. No touches or anything, but hopefully everything is going well there.

My wife needs to renew her passport. Should we do it now? Or wait? I can't think of anything (besides interview) that we would need it for. The passport should be back within a month. Any suggestions?

Okay...the New Orleans office just called me and they are now sending my Emergency AP application to another office to process it...I think she said MSC. They called to get my credit card details to send it overnight mail. The lady said I should have it back by friday. Thats now $66 on mailing!!! What was the point in them telling me to send it to New Orleans if they weren't going to process it! I'm starting to worry that I wont have AP in time for my flight on sunday.

Sorry about the passing of your father.

If the actual I-797 says you were transfered to California there would have been a couple of days that processing could not occur. The new letter is stating that the center you were transfered to has the documents and processing has resumed. Therefore, you are still on the fast track for approval.

Gotta love how USCIS makes sending updates complicated and or confusing  .

I was wondering the same thing? I hope so...

I believe she is due to fly out on Sunday, so there is still tomorrow. If not, perhaps the idea that was suggested, to speak w/ immigration at the airport in the hopes that they can do something.

If you go thru the other forums, you'll notice that USCIS would not require an interview for certain cases and the file is transferred over to local office. I would take it as a positive sign if the file has been transferred. Go to August & July filers forum and check it out yourself.

Stay put. I am sure you'll get your welcome letter very soon provided your name check is done.

I tried to get DHL to send it to England for me but the only way they would do that was to first send it back to the USCIS....and what with them already sending it to me a day after they said they would (I paid for overnight saturday delivery)....I decided that leaving it in the hands of the USCIS was a BAD idea. I even tried to arrange to pick it up from them....no can do they said. I couldn't get a neighbour to sign for it...only my signature would do they said.

I called Houston and talked to 4 immigration officers and tried to get them to give me AP at the airport....we can't give you AP here they said.

I tried to get my flight changed to monday afternoon....that will be another $1300 they said....you can kiss my ####### I said.

SO...I changed my flight to Saturday 26th to Feb 8th....only $450 fee (as its a week away).

I had a bad feeling about flying tomorrow anyway.....its a year to the day I flew back to England....not seeing my now husband for 7 months....it was a sad day for us both.

Oh, I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you! :( Please accept my condolances for your loss.

Is this a DHL issue, or USCIS did not send out your AP as promised? I'm not sure from your post. Did you get a refund for the extra Saturday deliver that never hapenned?
