Okay...the New Orleans office just called me and they are now sending my Emergency AP application to another office to process it...I think she said MSC. They called to get my credit card details to send it overnight mail. The lady said I should have it back by friday. Thats now $66 on mailing!!! What was the point in them telling me to send it to New Orleans if they weren't going to process it! I'm starting to worry that I wont have AP in time for my flight on sunday.

Got an email today, our case was transferred to CSC. I can't get excited about it because it seems that cases are being transferred to CSC and then back to the local office. I guess it's good to see action on the case, though.

Really? I thought I saw one case that went to CSC then to the local office, but isn't it safe to say that a large majority of CSC cases are not going back to the local office?

Ours is the case that got first was transferred to CSC, then the local office. The weird thing is that for the transfer to CSC, we got a standard notice in the mail (like the NOA1), stating that it was being sent to CSC for processing. But, we were only notified via e-mail of the transfer to the local office....and that occured a couple of days after the date of our Biometrics notice. Its a bit confusing, because I wonder if the "transfer to local office" doesn't pertain to the Biometrics instead of the case as a whole.

I'm waiting for after February 1, which is the day of our Biometrics....to see if there is any status change afterwards. So...I think jlvr is just being cautious in not getting too excited about a CSC transfer. One doesn't know anything for sure w/ USCIS....so never get too comfortable, that's my motto. :)

-P

Yep, exactly. Although I did think it was happening more frequently that cases transferred to CSC are being transferred back to local offices.

We didn't get anything yet in snail mail re the transfer, just the email. I guess it might still come some time this week, though. Gotta love the electronic age, info in a minute!

We haven't had our bio yet, I wonder how that works into the transfer?

Funny how people's personal situations can be so different. We never got an e-mail re the transfer to CSC, I have that in writing. I had stopped checking the online system, (I kept getting the "case not found" message) so my first communication after the NOA1's for AOS/EAD/AP was the paper letter stating the transfer. Upon receiving that, and seeing that the AOS receipt # showed up online, I added it to my online account (I still can't see EAD or AP online) and a few days later was notified via e-mail that my case is now pending at the local office. A week later, we got the Biometrics notice also by mail. I had a couple of touches to AOS afterwards, but nothing since 1/8/08....so we just wait. I figure there will be some more touches after biometrics, we'll see what the status is then.

Lost in USCIS Land? What's going on?

I received the paper NOA for our daughter January 10, post marked 20 December.

I never received the paper NOA for my wife.

I did get the MSC numbers off the back of the checks, and the MSC number on our daughters check is different from the MSC number on the NOA.

None of the numbers show up when checking on the web site.

Time for an Infopass, or wait some more?????

AOS Timeline

11/29/07 - Fedex'd to Lockbox (Chicago)

12/3/07 - Delivery confirmation..........

12/21/07 - Checks cashed!!!

01/10/08 Paper NOA1 for daughter received - Postmarked 12/20/07

MSC# on back of check doesn't match MSC# on NOA.

01/31/08 Still no news for wife. All three numbers still come up red on-line.

02/26/08 Called USCIS 800 number. Very friendly and helpful individual and supervisor.

Found out correct MSC numbers. Also found out that we missed the Bio!

We never received any appointment letter. (Originally set for January)

Went to local support office and asked about re-scheduling the Bio. Very nice manager at the office

did our Bio then and there, without having to wait since they were not busy.

April 8 and still waiting.......

May 11....and waiting, and waiting...not even a touch.

May 24 received NOA2 appointment for Interview for 30 July. Web page still not updated.

July 30 - Interview. APPROVED. Green card will be sent.

9/12/08 Called USCIS asking where GC's are?

10/15/08 Get letter from USCIS that GC's were sent August 8. Never received them.

10/20/08 Sent forms and $740 for two new GC's.

11/7/08 Received confirmation of receipt for new GC's.

11/12/08 Received BIO appointment.

11/25/08 Bio done.

Waiting, waiting, waiting

January 2009 finally received GC!

May 3 2010 Filed for Removal of Conditions.

June 21 Bio appointment.

August 11 Approval letter. No Interview.

August 21 - 10 Year card received.

You could call the number. Get a person and give them your MSC number from your daughter's NOA. If it doesn't show, they'll transfer you to an officer who can use that # to check and see if the rest of your paperwork has been logged in.

My numbers aren't in the automated system, but Ive finally given up worrying about it. It seems that many cases don't get added in for some reason or another.

Saludos!

Huh? You're confusing me....did you get an e-mail notice first that you were transfered to CSC, and now you got a notice that CSC received your case, which you thought was a tranfer back to local office e-mail? What's the wording of the e-mail?

Ok, now I'm completely confused.:wacko::wacko: Where from this e-mail do you get that your case is transferred to California Service Center (CSC)? See what I've bolded? This is the exact same e-mail I got...and from this I understood that they transferred my case back to the local office. Did I misunderstand the e-mail???

The wording of the e-mail is different from the paper notification of transfer, which I also have, which clearly states that its a "Transfer Notice" and that:

...in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing:

California Service Center, 2nd Flr, 24000 Avila Road, Laguna Nigel, CA...

So is my case still at CSC and I've been worrying for no reason? Someone please put my mind at ease and explain.:unsure:
