Well Jackson, MS doesn't do Emergency Advance Parole...so I was told to send everything to New Orleans overnight and I should have my AP by thursday...although I just read on the USCIS website that New Orleans doesn't accept applications by mail. But as I was told to send it there...and they did give me an official list of instructions for sending it there...well...im hoping it was the right thing to do. If not...i'm going to be pissed!

We had our (Wife and Daughter) Biometrics today in Milwaukee. We arrived about 25 minutes early, and there was no line at all. Everything seemed to go smooth and we were in and out of there within a half hour. While there I asked about our inability to add the receipt numbers online and they just said that with the holidays et. al. it may take a bit. They (DHS employees) were very surprised to hear of our NOA1 dates being a few days after our sending in the applications, and even more surprised to hear we were there for biometrics in under 4 weeks from mailing the package.

Now, if we could just be entered into the system so I can add the applications into case status online and I'll relax and wait.

Really? I thought I saw one case that went to CSC then to the local office, but isn't it safe to say that a large majority of CSC cases are not going back to the local office?

Unless there is a line, biometrics usually only takes about 15-20 minutes...it is just a fingerprinting and photo taking session. As far as I know, there are no real questions asked...but I still wouldn't advise someone w/ limited english to go alone. If you can, have a family member or friend attend.

Fiance? Isn't he supposed to be your husband now that you're married? ;)

Ours is the case that got first was transferred to CSC, then the local office. The weird thing is that for the transfer to CSC, we got a standard notice in the mail (like the NOA1), stating that it was being sent to CSC for processing. But, we were only notified via e-mail of the transfer to the local office....and that occured a couple of days after the date of our Biometrics notice. Its a bit confusing, because I wonder if the "transfer to local office" doesn't pertain to the Biometrics instead of the case as a whole.

I'm waiting for after February 1, which is the day of our Biometrics....to see if there is any status change afterwards. So...I think jlvr is just being cautious in not getting too excited about a CSC transfer. One doesn't know anything for sure w/ USCIS....so never get too comfortable, that's my motto. :)
