Great - thanks for the answers. As luck would have it, hours after posting I received my biometrics appointment letter for an appointment 10 days away. Wondering if it helps/hurts the process if I turn up early (within the next couple of days) for biometrics? I don't want to upset the applecart so to speak. Does anybody have any feedback?

Also, here is a silly question: What is the order & location of processing? I shipped my docs to Chicago lockbox but got receipts from MSC, MO. I live in NY, is my case now going to be forwarded to the NY office - to the ASC or the Field Office. Hoping some of the veterans on this helpful forum can help understand the mechanics of the process. Many thanks!

Yes, I wouldn't worry....really hasn't been that many days and think of all the people who take vacation between Christmas and New years. They are more then likely understaffed.

I got everything before Christmas and am now wonderting why I don't have a Biometrics letter....who knows...all we can do is complain and wait :) !

For the record.....I hate waiting

yeah we never sent in w2 either we did send in transcripts from IRS and they didnt accept those either... unfortunately my FIL is not quick with getting thing so who knows how long i will have to wait for his W2's

Whoooo Hoooo!!! Biometrics appointments letters arrived today..... 01/08/08.

Kind of curios though, I was sort of expecting an RFE. Do those usually come before or after the Biometrics appointments? Im definately okay with not getting an RFE, just thought Id ask.

CM

you can get an RFE at anytime

You got a biometrics appt letter and then an RFE? Our RFE said that it was a request for initial info and that they could not process the EAD without the info.

Wait, I just realized that you said that you sent in the transcripts and they did not accept those. Aw man, so I guess I can expect another RFE because I sent in the transcripts but not the W2s. Dammit. I thought the transcript was considered the complete info. Damn. Guess I'd better dig up the W2s in anticipation of the RFE. I photocopied the RFE letter, I wonder if I can send in the copy with the W2 now instead of waiting for another RFE?

did you get any touches on your AOS yet from your RFE?

Found out why I haven't gotten a biometrics letter yet...got RFE's in the mail today :( Somehow we missed including our W2/ 1099's along with my husband's Affidavit of Support for my daughter and myself.

Here we go... we'll send them back post haste on Monday and hope things get back on track. I continue to be extremely bored at home :) And I'd like to have the AP so I can visit back home on Easter in March...hopefully that will still work out.

Does anyone know...if I asked for specific dates on the AP, but that time passes, do they skip processing it or do i need to send an adjustment in or something?

Status: Arrival at Pick-Up-Point

Your item arrived at the LEES SUMMIT, MO 64064 processing center at 10:49 AM on January 2, 2008 and is ready for pickup. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

The packets go to the post office and sit at the box and wait for pickup. They go every few days, sometimes daily. So you should see it was signed for today.

Your item was delivered at 4:26 PM on January 2, 2008 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64064 to HOMELAND SECURITY . The item was signed for by D ATWELL.

you are correct sir.

Mine was delivered on the 2nd, too and then picked up on the 3rd. I still don't see anything online, but I figure if they just got the mail on Thursday it's not likely that there was much done on it before Friday at closing. I hope to hear something this week. And I'm hoping it's not another RFE for the W-2s that I should have sent in the first place.

Yes, I just read that. I've been reading backwards (or is it forwards?), catching up on what I've missed. Hopefully if they give you another biometrics, they will send you to an office near where you are moving. I guess you should file the change of address with them as soon as possible and keep following up to make sure it's registered. Will someone at your current address hold or forward mail for you?

I hope I hear something this week, and not in the form of another RFE.

We got a letter on Saturday saying our case was transferred to CSC! Does this mean we're past the point where we would get an RFE?

No you can receive a RFE at anypoint in the process. It just means that CSC will take care of your case and that you have chances of not needing an interview (see the CSC transfered thread).

Some documents are sometimes even requested at the time of the interview and the GC will only be approved if you send/bring them. You're never past the point of getting an RFE until you are approved.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.
