December AOS filers

Just sent our package out (finally) on Friday, so I guess that makes me a December filer. Sent it priority with tracking, so now I can check every day on the usps website. Then I can wait more anxious days for them to cash our check so I can get the receipt number. Then I can bite my nails some more as I check the uscis website ten times a day for activity. Oh joy, oh joy, I can't wait.

One thing I can't complain about is that at least my love is here with me while we wait this time.

We sent ours on Thursday 11/29, also w/ tracking, so that makes us December filers as well. :-)

I wish for a speedy processing and quick approvals.

We sent ours Saturday, Dec. 1. The waiting game begins again. This is a much easier wait of course since we are finally together.

Yay, I just checked my package tracking. I thought it would take at least an extra day or two, since I didn't mail it 2-3 day service, just regular first class mail. But I'm not complaining.

Mine only went priority because the guy at the post office said it would pretty much be the same amount since I needed to buy an envelope. They haven't cashed the check yet, so I'm still waiting for that.

We shipped packet to Chicago yesterday. Did anyone that sent a money order get confused on what address to put on the money order. It's written to US Dept of Homeland Security but it's being sent to Chicago. I put the Chicago address because I didn't know. Does anyone have a clue?

Do you mean that you wrote the Chicago address on the money order? That should be fine, I think the address part on the money order is a formality or for tracking. I don't think it affects the payee.

Meanwhile I keep checking my bank's website to see if the check's been cashed, even though I know the bank only updates once a day.

We carefully prepared and finally mailed our AOS packet on 12/3. It will be much easier waiting together.

we sent our package priority mail on December 3rd, we sent it certified and also included a return reciept. We used a Certified Check from the bank because the teller told us if we bought two money orders it would cost 4.50 each, but if we sent it Cashiers Check, it would only cost $5.00. We put USCIS on the payee line. How do I check on the USCIS webpage? Do you I use our old WAC number to sign in, or is there a new number for us now?

Good luck to all the December filers, I can wait patiently for the AOS approval, I have my husband with me now, but the EAD is going to be tough to hold out for. My income is just above the poverty level....its going to be a long winter if he can't work soon...

I'm pretty sure that there will be a different receipt number. Can you track the certified check to get the receipt number off the back of it? Why would you have sent two checks?

It makes me nervous that they have had my package since Sunday but the check has not yet come through my bank. I would figure that the money would be a priority. The I-129 seems so long ago now, I don't remember the time frame between them receiving it and the check clearing.

Well, the check finally showed up at my bank.

Unfortunately, either I'm not putting the number in correctly or it's not added to the system yet because it's not recognizing the number.

Oh well. But at least that's another step.
