I have followed the quides on here but still have a few questions. It says to send proof of relationship with 130 form but nothing about the 129 form. Oh yeah, we are applying for a K-3 visa. So i just send proof of bonified marriage with the 130 form and not the 129 form? Also do i send them both together to the service center? Or do i send them out separately?

Thanks

I'd do some more research if I were you on not going for the K3 and just doing the CR-1.

You can send them both together but there are new instructions beginning tomorrow for sending to the lockbox in Chicago. The extra evidence applies only to the I-130 but what we've seen is that it is not needed for newlyweds who have never lived together. If you have some of the items, then by all means, send them.

Doesn't cr-1 take longer? I dont know i been reading on here and seeing k-3 is more expensive and sometimes takes longer. I really dont know what to do.

I also forgot to say. My husband is from pakistan. He has many jelouse reletives so if they did a home call on his reletives they might not tell the truth. I experienced this first hand becouse his aunt actually tried to hand me into the extrimists hands when i was in swat. Do they do house calls on a k-3 is my question?

Hello Pugsly, I just finish the whole process of k-3. First let me ask you. Have you filed the I-130 and if so have they sent you the (I 797 notice) saying they received your petetion if they did, you are on the right track. Next thing for you to is to mail a copy of I 797 notice. along with your I 129F. Pugsly go for the

k-3 it is faster than cr1 reason why I'm saying this, that if I had not done the k-3 my husband would had to wait for his interview for the cr1 which is a 7 to 8 month wait. The catch is once you have finished the I-130 process meaning sumitting all documents that NVC request from. Then they tell you everything is completed and that they will notify you when your interview comes up which take 7 to 8 month. while the I-130 which becomes cr1 is processing k-3 kicks in, in his country they then schedule him an appointment with in three month and then he goes to the appointment get approved for nonimmigrant visa to come wait over in usa adjust staus to interview in usa. times between I-130 is 12mo to complete with all processing documents to NVC. Which turns into cr1 which is another 7 to 8 mo until a interview is schedule in his country. so total wait time to be with your hubby will take about 18mo, are more. With the k-3 total time 6 to 9 mo to be with your hubby.

I would suggest you check the timelines for CR/IRs here on VJ. CRs have speeded up in the last year.

K3 is still faster but not a whole lot.

I agree - I was going to file for both together but on the advice of some other VJers have decided to only file for the CR-1. If your husband is in a potentially dangerous situation like you posted earlier though, you might want to try for the perhaps quicker K-3 but then you will have the additional expense and headaches of AOS when he gets here. Financially it makes more sense for us to go the CR-1 route but your situation may be different. GL either way.

AFAIK sometimes when cases are in AR/AP part of the investigation involves visits to the beneficiary's house to speak to relatives who know about the relationship.

You might want to ask in the appropriate regional forum but we don't hear much about home visits. They are done but not in most cases.
