I came across this gizmo while searching for solutions to my current litter box woes and LMAO'd.

So one of my cats likes to throw litter out of the box, a good amount of it. This morning I caught the other cat crouching in the litter outside of the box getting ready to do her business. :o So I figure I need to do something. Do any of you use covered litter boxes? Will that take care of my problem? I've seen thse fancy contraptions online (the easter eggs take the cake) and was thinking it was overkill.

"his droppings automatically get turned into little red and yellow balls of delight"

I will not be able to erase this from my memory as long as I live.   What on earth is delightful about scat eggs? Do they really expect people to play with these? Perhaps I can replace those lost croquet balls with some poop eggs! Oh good gracious, dont hit them too hard with the mallet, there's a surprise inside.

Just make sure that when fiesta rolls around next year, you don't mistake them for confetti eggs.

They kind of look like Cadbury mini-eggs. That would be a party foul!

I bet there's more nutritional value in a fecal egg than a cadbury.

Our cat throws her litter out of the box too. Then when she returns to the box to do her "business", she sticks her paw out and scratches the litter on the floor leaving the poo in the box uncovered.

Since I've became preggo, litter box duty has been out of the question and my husband has been assigned the pooper scooper. He is ready to give the cat her walking papers.

I've thought about investing in the self cleaning ones, but I'm not sure if they are worth the money.

Maybe they have color cartridges that you can replace seasonally - red and green for Christmas; red, white, and blue for July 4th...

I've used covered litter boxes for years. Best invention ever, well worth the money.

Thanks, Mags. I think I'll try this before entering the world of poop eggs.

If I switch to covered, do you think they'll understand, or should I be prepared for a learning curve and accidents?

I heard that cats learn by example so you're probably going to want to get in there and show them how it's done.
